(re)bound: the altered book

Juried by Vicki VanAmeyden

June 10 through July 23, 2022

Entry deadline: Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 11:59 pm (EST)

This exhibit seeks mixed media artwork that modifies a book from its original form by altering its state or meaning. Altered books can integrate text with sculptural and material richness to create a multi-sensory reading experience. Final pieces can take many different forms including sculpture, collage, assemblage or jewelry as long as ‘the book’ is evident in its final appearance. Books from any source utilizing any non-perishable medium are eligible. All work must be original and executed within the last three years.

Juror: Vicki Van Ameyden

Vicki VanAmeyden is an artist/printmaker residing in southwest Michigan. She received an MFA in Painting from Western Michigan University with a concentration in printmaking and a BFA in Illustration from Kendall School of Design. Her diverse and interdisciplinary approach to art making often includes the use of text and non-traditional materials. VanAmeyden’s work has been exhibited and acknowledged with awards at regional and national levels. vickivanameyden.com
