Wild Life from the Los Angeles Printmaking Society
at the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock.
Are we living in the time of the Anthropocene, the sixth mass extermination on Earth? What can we do to protect what remains of our wild places and the wildlife that lives there, with so much at stake?

Los Angeles, a place more associated with freeways and traffic, is one of only two cities worldwide that is also home to big cats within its city limits. It is a testament to local community action that has been working to protect natural spaces and create the wildlife passages and corridors that our LA big cats will need to survive into the future. All across America, urban expansion impacts wildlife that is already dealing with climate change and toxic environments. What can we do to help? In recognition of Earth Day 2022, our artists are looking at a range of issues facing native wildlife. An event on April 23rd for Earth Day in partnership with C.L.A.W. Los Angeles, will bring awareness of local measures in LA to support our wildlife by building and protecting wildlife corridors and overpasses to create connected habitats.

Exhibition: April 1st to April 30th, 2022
Venue: Center for the Arts Eagle Rock (CFAER) is located at 2225 Colorado Blvd, LA CA 90041 in the historic Carnegie Library building and serving the community of greater Northeast LA with dynamic and diverse cultural programming for all ages.

Juror: Linda Lyke, Professor of Art, Occidental College and Los Angeles artist renown for her art and activism in printmaking, draws attention to the effects of climate change and the need for bio-diversity on the planet.
