The subject of this dual artist call is EXTINCTION: Save the Planet. 

You are invited to act as an ambassador of our planet Earth, and be the voice of all endangered species by showcasing your art in another all-medium, dual exhibition and publication opportunity, organized by Gallerium.

According to an article in CNN, the sixth mass extinction is accelerating. It is not some worrisome thought for the future; it is here, it is happening now, and it is entirely our fault, we as humans.

Furthermore, recently published UN climate report (Monday, April 04, 2022) warns humanity that the world is on a fast track to an obvious disaster, and scientists argue that it is "Now or Never" to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.

Artists have always been the conscious mind and heart of society, and now, more than ever, the world needs their creative support to raise awareness about environmental issues and concerns, and take another vital step towards saving the earth through their prominent art.

Now for the second year of EXTINCTION: Save the Planet artist call, we are looking for your artistic interpretations in the forms of artworks that visualize the below subjects:

a. Global warming concerns such as meltdown and ice mass loss in Greenland, Antarctica, the Arctic, and glaciers worldwide

b. Animals, plants, and fungus on the IUCN Red List of threatened species

c. Animals (birds, sea life, insects, wildlife, pets) and plants sufferings due to climate changes

d. Air, light, noise, plastic, chemical, thermal, and water pollution, along with litter, soil, and radioactive contamination, that hurt nature and species

e. Vanishing forests, rainforests, and wildfire spread because of environmental conditions

f. Natural disasters such as tornadoes, storms, floods, earthquakes, wildfires, droughts, and their effects on everyone's habitat

g. Preventing or slowing down the extinction that threatens the ecosystem and has severe consequences for all species survival

h. Any similar subject that can be categorized as an extinction-related matter

All artistic expressions and artworks created in any medium, abstract or representational, are welcome.

The selected artworks will be published in The Book of Art: Extinction 2022 publication and showcased in Extinction: Save the Planet international online group exhibition by Gallerium.

Submission is free, and a small selection fee applies to selected artists only.

AWARDS

■ Publication

The selected artworks will be published in The Book of Arts: Extinction 2022 publication.

The online version of the book will be available for free, while the high-quality print can be ordered online and via our website directly.

Published in glossy colorful A4 pages, The Book of Arts: Extinction 2022 will be promoted and distributed internationally, and will be available to thousands of readers, including experts, galleries, curators, businesses, and art enthusiasts, via popular publication gateways.

■ Exhibition

The selected artworks will be showcased in Extinction - 2022 international group art exhibition, organized by Gallerium.

Selected artworks will be exhibited online from April 22, to May 22, 2022.

■ Exhibition Catalogue

All selected artworks and artists will be published in a stylish colorful exhibition catalogue available in both online and print.

Artists can order for the print catalogue via print-on-demand service from one of the partner platforms. The catalogue will be promoted and circulated internationally, becoming available to millions of viewers including art experts, galleries, curators, businesses and enthusiasts, via popular publication gateways.

■ Exhibition Poster

Each artist will receive a link to the digital version of the exhibition poster via email.

■ Social Media Badges

A digital social media promotional badge for each artwork will be sent to each artist to share on social media.

■ Artwork Rating and Comments

All exhibition visitors can post their comments and ratings of each artwork online.

■ Exhibition Press Release

An exhibition press release sent out will be published in the art media to mark the event, attract more visitors, and increase the chances of artwork sales during the exhibition period.

■ Reports, Analytics and Insights

A report containing the number of views, comments, artworks popularity, the engagement rate of exhibition viewers with artworks, and sales statistics, will be sent to artists via email.

■ Artist Profile Page

Each artist receives a free online profile page on Biafarin platform.

■ Certificate

A digital certificate will be issued for all participants and selected artists.

Each artist can print the digital certificate from Biafarin platform after the selection process is complete.

■ Biafarin Free Shipment

Selected Biafarin members with Gold and Platinum packages will use a free shipment of their artwork(s) in case of sales.

Only selected artists will pay a selection fee of USD 35

Up to 5 artworks are accepted.

The selection fee is fixed, regardless of number of selected artworks per artist.

ARTIST ELIGIBILITY

This dual exhibition and publication opportunity is open to all visual artists worldwide.

ARTWORK ELIGIBILITY

Art Categories

The submission is open to all visual artists creating original artworks in 2 and 3-dimensional media.

Painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, photography, digital art, fiber art, sculpture and mixed media are accepted.

Style
All styles are accepted.

Any abstract or representational interpretations of the subject are welcome.

Size
There is no size limit for submitted artworks.
 

Duration
There is no limit for artwork creation year.
Artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred.

Originality and Rights
Artworks must be entirely the work of the entrant, executed without the supervision of an instructor.

Entries must not be copies or derivatives based in any way on other copyrighted or published paintings, photographs or other artistic work. Any infraction of this rule will result in serious consequences.

Artist should have all the rights for presenting and publishing the artworks internationally.

Artwork Photo

Only the artwork should show in the photo (no frames or extraneous backgrounds).

Invited artists might be asked for high resolution artwork photos, if needed.

Availability

Artists can submit artworks that are not for sales.

Number of Artworks

Artists can submit up to 5 pieces of original artworks in relation to the subject.

The artworks are subject to selection and maximum 2 artworks might be selected from the chosen artists.

Other

Artworks that, in reasonable view of the organizer, include porn, violence, and/or racial, and religious hatred, inappropriate and/or offensive content, are not admissible.
