The Nemeth Art Center (formerly the North Country Museum of Art) is hosting Midwest Multiples, a regional exhibit of artwork created as part of an edition. Both artist books and prints, reproduced mechanically or by hand, will be accepted. No photography, please (although books and prints that utilize photography as one process within the context of a larger project are encouraged). Variable editions are welcome. The show will run for the month of August in Park Rapids, Minnesota. Submissions are due June 8. A print sale, artist talks, and workshops will accompany the exhibition. Accepted artists will be asked if they would like to participate in these events. About the Jurors: Anna Arnar is a professor of Art History at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Her recent book, "The Book as Instrument: Stéphane Mallarmé, the Artist’s Book, and the Transformation of Print Culture", was published by the University of Chicago Press. Kristin Makholm is the Executive Director of the Minnesota Museum of American Art. Previously she was the curator of prints and drawings at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Eligibility: Artists must be current residents of Minnesota or a surrounding state (Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota). Submitted work must be part of an edition and utilize mechanical or hand done processes.
