Honey, I Shrunk the Art is an open call art exhibition for small works from local artists measuring no larger than 8”x10” (Framed size no larger than 9”x11” outside of frame to outside of frame). Three-dimensional work will also be accepted, no larger than 10” in any direction. All original media is acceptable, such as, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, collage, fabricwork, glasswork, jewelry and digital media. All entries compliant with our exhibition specifications will be accepted until space is filled.

The exhibition will hang April 30 - May 29, 2022 in The Firefly Artists’ upstairs gallery space - The Darcy Gallery* in Northport, New York. (*Note: there is no handicapped access to this venue, which is located on the second floor of the historic building housing our gallery.)

Entries must be original artwork, no reproductions (with the exception of photography). All art must be for sale. The gallery will take a 35% commission on sold pieces. Eligibility is open to 2D and 3D works by local artists. All media, such as drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, collage, fabric, glass, jewelry and digital media is acceptable. Maximum size of pieces is 9” x 11’ (including frame). The exhibition will hang for 4 weeks in our new expanded gallery space, The Darcy Gallery.* (*Note: there is no handicap access to this venue, which is located on the second floor of the historic Masonic building on Main Street in Northport, NY)

April 22, 5:00pm - 8:00pm and April 24 3:00pm -5:00pm - Dropoff. Work must be delivered in person to The Firefly Artists Gallery at 162 Main Street, Northport, NY (we are not able to accept shipped artwork for this show)
April 30 - May 29 - Exhibition in The Darcy Gallery (2nd Floor of The Firefly Artists) 
May 1, 12:00pm - 5:00pm - Reception
June 3, 5:00pm - 8:00pm and June 4th, 3:00pm -5:00pm - ­­Artwork pickup. All artwork must be picked up in person.

Application Requirements

PRESENTATION
Accepted work must be framed, wired and ready to hang or display. Accepted Jewelry pieces must be framed. Each submitted piece of work shall include (1) Artist Name (2) Name of Work, (3) medium/full description of the materials used.

SUBMISSION
Each artist may submit two entries for $15.00 and up to 4 additional pieces for $5 each.  All entries compliant with our exhibition specifications will be accepted until space is filled. The Gallery reserves the right to omit any piece at its sole discretion that it deems obscene or offensive in subject matter.

DROP OFF/PICK UP
Work must be delivered in person to The Firefly Artists Gallery at 162 Main Street, Northport, NY (we are not able to accept shipped artwork for this show). Each selected work shall be delivered in person with (1) Artist Name (2) Name of work (3) Full description of materials used. The Firefly will not be responsible for shipping. Accepted artists must be prepared to drop off artwork April 22, 5:00pm - 8:00pm or April 24, 3:00 - 5:00pm. Work must be delivered in person to The Firefly Artists Gallery at 162 Main Street, Northport, NY (we will NOT accept shipped artwork for this show).

Artists must pick up their work in person June 3, 5:00pm - 8:00pm or June 4th, 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Firefly is not able to ship artwork back to artists after the show. A storage fee of $5 per day will be accrued for pieces of art left beyond June 6, 2021 until the art is picked up. After 30 days of the show’s ending, The Firefly Artists reserves the right to place objects in storage at the Lender/Artist’s risk and expense.

INSURANCE
Artists shall provide insurance coverage for their own works while on view at The Firefly Artists Gallery.

PUBLICITY

The Firefly Artists assumes the cost of publicity and shall have the right to photograph accepted works and to create videos including accepted works for such purposes. Such publicity, including selection of media and photographs, will be made at the discretion of the managing partners of The Firefly Artists. Publicity may include: mailing, emails, social media and website postings, and distribution of show announcements, press releases, gallery interpretive displays or other didactic material associated with the exhibition, as well as advertisements in newspapers and other publications if any are warranted.

PHOTO IMAGERY & STATEMENT

The Artist grants permission to use submitted images and statement as well as any images of your works created by The Firefly Artists for publication and promotional purposes. The Firefly Artists shall have the right to publish any such photographs and statements furnished by the artist with no payment to the artist or the photographer who produced the image. Artists must secure publication permission from the photographer if copyrighted; and provide the same to The Firefly Artists.
