Local and regional artists are invited to submit qualifications for the 2022 Inglewood Growing Artists’ Projects (IGAP) to create original creative work drawing on Inglewood’s diverse trees and landscapes.

IGAP, a creative commissioning program begun in 2013, recognizes that artists are expert in the development and placement of impactful public art. Building on the work and thinking of artists, Inglewood has a significant collection of mature trees in City Hall and in parks and open spaces.  We seek a creative artist to explore this collection for inspiration.  We seek physical works of sculpture, painting photography, video, poetry, prose, artist’s book or temporary installation. We invite you to explore the range of permanent, temporary and literary projects that have been commissioned at https://www.inglewoodpublicart.org/city-public-art.

Three semi-finalists will be paid to develop a proposal format and site for the commission. One artist will be contracted in the amount of $30,000 to design, fabricate, publicly present and document the work, within a twelve (12) month period, to become part of the City’s Public Art Collection.

To celebrate our significant collection of mature trees, we seek a creative artist to explore Inglewood for inspiration.  We seek physical works of sculpture, painting photography, video, poetry, prose, artist’s book or temporary installation that will result in permanent documentation.  The permanent, temporary and literary projects previously commissioned may be explored at inglewoodpublicart.org/city-public-art.
