​Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, Michigan, is now accepting submissions for the exhibition Travelogues: Juried Photography Exhibition.

Michigan artists are invited to submit original works of art for the juried exhibition: Travelogues: Juried Photography Exhibition. We often rely on photographs to remember a moment, capture a scene, or catalog an experience. This is especially true during travel. As we explore new places or break from our regular routines, our cameras are often in hand as we try to hang on to a moment or capture the new or unfamiliar with fresh eyes. With this in mind, this call for entry asks artists to share original photographs and works of art created with photographic media that relate to ideas of travel. Work must have been completed in the past five years. Creative and experimental approaches to the theme or media are welcome.

This opportunity is open to artists 18 and older working in photography and photography-related media. Artists must be based in Michigan.

$1000 in prizes will be awarded.

Applicant Calendar:
The exhibition will be on display in Petoskey’s Bonfield Gallery, September 17 to November 5, 2022
Submit entries online: June 6 - July 22, 2022
Notification will be sent by Friday, August 5, 2022.
The artist is responsible for transporting work to and from Crooked Tree Arts Center (Petoskey), either through shipping or in-person drop-off and pick-up.
Work must be delivered to Crooked Tree Arts Center (Petoskey) between September 3 - 10, 2022, during posted CTAC gallery hours.
If shipping artwork, the artwork must arrive with a return shipping label.
Unsold artwork must be picked up during gallery hours on November 8 - 12, 2022, or by appointment.
Works delivered (with return shipping arrangements) will be sent by November 14, 2022. 

​Eligibility
This opportunity is open to United States residents 18 years and older, who reside in Michigan. Works must be original works of art. All photography and photography-related media are eligible.

Awards
$1000 in prizes will be awarded. Three cash prizes will be awarded: First Place $500, Second Place $300, Third Place $200.

Image File Size and Format Guidelines:
Must meet CaFE image format requirements.

Terms and Conditions
The call is open to U.S. residents residing in Michigan, 18 years and older.
Submissions must be original works created by the artist submitting the work.
Works must not have been previously exhibited at Crooked Tree Arts Center-Petoskey.
Accepted two-dimensional canvas artwork or works on paper must be framed and wired for hanging.
Crooked Tree Arts Center galleries are sales galleries, and works can be for sale. Price is set by the artist. Crooked Tree Arts Center will retain a 40% commission on all sales. Works do not have to be for sale.

A non-refundable fee of $35.00 per artist is required for entry for the first three entries (CTAC members $20.00, Guild Members may enter for free). Artists may submit an additional three entries at $5 per entry. If you are a current Artist Guild Member of Crooked Tree Arts Center, you will receive an email with your code. Accepted work may NOT be removed until after the close of the show.

Work not picked up by specified pick-up dates becomes property of Crooked Tree Arts Center unless prior arrangement has been made with Crooked Tree Arts Center staff. The artist forfeits any claim to the work and Crooked Tree Arts Center cannot be held responsible for any method of disposal arising from forfeiture.
By submitting work to this exhibition opportunity, the artist agrees to all terms and conditions described in the exhibition prospectus.
