Art As Healing Foundation is presenting a surban style plein air paint-out. Plain air artists often paint the rural landscape, but we would like to encourage the painting of the suburban landscape. Take the everyday and make it special and beautiful through your creative process. We are also interested in plein air work done in an evening atmosphere as the light shifts during this time of day. This event will take place from 6-10p on August 27th, 2022.

How to participate:

REGISTER
The administrative/registration fee is $15 and there is no other fee to participate. We are keeping the number of artists limited to 25 official participants so that the scoring is manageable. Artist registration is here, through CaFE and requires four photographs of plein air work.

BRING YOUR MATERIALS & SIGN IN AT 6PM
Check-in time is at 6PM August 27th, 2022 on the South side of Launch Entertainment. Look for the sign. You must bring all your own materials, paper, canvas, easel, paints, pencils, chair, etc., everything you need to do your work. You also need a drop cloth to put under your work space to keep our venue clean. 

We will stamp and label the back of your surface. In order to be included in the scoring, you must have the stamp and label on the back of your piece {label must be filled out}. This is to ensure that the work being scored has actually been completed on-site that same day. Work must reflect the immediate area Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk, and the few blocks within that area, like the plaza around Emagine! Theater and the nearby stores. If you work quickly, you may have a second surface stamped after completing and returning the first work to the tent. 

BRING FINISHED WORK BACK TO THE DESIGNATED AREA BY 9PM
​Work must arrive no later then 9pm to be included in the scoring. You can also bring them earlier, whenever you finish. We will be laying them out on the tables for the scoring. This will, hopefully, only take an hour. We encourage you to explore the restaurants, bars, and entertainment area while you wait. We will announce winners at 10pm. First place $500, Second Place $300, Third Place $200. 

RETURN TO THE TENT BY 10PM FOR AWARD ANNOUNCEMENTS
Winners will be announced at 10pm and prizes awarded. Pick up your work and take it home with you.

NOTE: We will only reschedule this event if it is storming, not for light rain. A rain date is TBD.
