An annual, national, juried small works exhibit, highlighting the power in the compact. Artists are encouraged to explore ideas of compression, focus, scale, the intimate, and what gives impact and meaning through a restrained format.  Open to subject and theme as long as the dimensions do not exceed 12” in any direction, including frame or other mounts.  

Teeny, Tiny, BOLD runs from November 17, 2022 through Saturday, Feb 4, 2023.  This exhibit will coincide with Artists Sunday on November 27, a national campaign to support artists the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Artists are encouraged to attend the artist reception on Friday, December 2, 2022, and to share exhibit on social media.

ROUNTREE GALLERY

An all volunteer, artist run, non-profit contemporary gallery hosting local, regional and national exhibits, while serving the community with educational and studio opportunities.

JUROR

Michael Velliquette is an artist who makes intricately constructed paper-based sculpture. A working artist for 20 years, Velliquette has participated in over 150 exhibitions in museums and galleries in the US, Europe and Asia. His work is in the permanent collections of the Chazen Museum of Art; the Racine Art Museum; The West Bend Insurance Collection; The Pratt Institute Libraries; The John Michael Kohler Art Center; and The Microsoft Collection, among others. He has participated in residencies and cultural exchange programs including the Artpace International Artist-in-Residence; the SIM Residency, Reykjavik; the John Michael Kohler Art/Industry program; and EUARCA, Kassel, Germany. In 2021 he was an artist resident at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. As an educator Velliquette is on faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he teaches courses in visual literacy and creative practice. 

Application Requirements

Artists are encouraged to submit works in mediums: painting, drawing, collage, photography, fiber, metal, printmaking, ceramics or any other medium that fits the size requirement of not exceeding 12” in any direction.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to artists 18 and older in the US or US territories.
