In partnership with Art League RI, AAA Northeast is looking to permanently acquire artwork for its newly renovated, modern headquarters building located in Providence, RI. The redesigned facility has created welcoming spaces where people can work together, share ideas, and build community.
AAA Northeast is one of the largest and most innovative not-for-profit organizations, providing advocacy on behalf of all motorists, as well as many specialized services – such as automotive services, insurance, financial services, and travel – for the benefit of its members. AAA Northeast is compromised of over 3,200 employees across more than 70 locations. They serve 6.2 million members across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.
As part of the organization's diversity, equity and inclusion initiative, the focal point of this call for art is "Community Matters." AAA Northeast is pursuing artwork that celebrates the diversity of its employees and the populations it serves throughout its regional footprint.
Helping and serving the community is a way of life at AAA Northeast and is one of its primary value statements. More than just words, it is an essential quality exemplified by the diverse work employees perform daily. Ideally, the work of local artists within AAA Northeast’s regional footprint will submit work that will enliven the space and is reflective of the communities served.
The art installation project will be completed in several phases with each phase concentrating on specific sections of the building. One section of the building is titled "Community," which includes four conference rooms named after AAA Northeast's brand values. The names of the rooms within the Community wing are "Help & Serve" (the boardroom), "Value & Respect,” "Innovación,” (in Spanish to reflect the diversity of its own community) and “Relationship Builders.”
The artwork selected from this Call for Entry will focus on the “Help & Serve” boardroom and the hallway area immediately adjacent to it. The boardroom features high-quality modern equipment and furniture. It is a space where innovative decisions are made that affect all areas of the business and the communities served.
The "Dimensions and Space" section below provides details on room dimensions, design, and color scheme as well as images and schematics.
Please read this prospectus carefully and only consider submitting work if you are certain you can comply with the requirements and timetable outlined in this document. By submitting artwork to this Call for Entry, and if your work is selected for this exhibition, you agree to exhibit your work from December 10, 2022, through January 14, 2023.
Artwork: All 2D media is eligible, including photography and digital art. New and existing artwork may be submitted, and all work must be original. Work found to be copied from copyrighted work will not be hung. Reprints are not permitted. All work must be exhibition ready to install with the appropriate hardware. No saw-tooth hangers or clips. Work that does not adhere to the guidelines or is deemed not to be a faithful representation of the image submitted will not be exhibited. Artwork must be appropriate for viewers of all ages.
Large works on paper or canvas are encouraged. Given the size and scale of the boardroom and hallways, the minimum size for artwork submitted to this Call for Entry is 16” x 20” including the frame. Artists may have multiple pieces (diptych, triptych, etc.) to make up one work. All work accepted for this exhibition must be framed, sealed, secured and ready to be installed in a permanent collection.

The height from the top of the wainscoting to the ceiling is 116” (9’8”). Please see the attached images of the boardroom and hallways.
