Still Here, Still Native | A Native American Art Exhibit | October 28, 2022 - November 27, 2022

Cumberland County Schools Office of Indian Education & The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County

301 Hay St.

Fayetteville, NC 28301

Submission Deadline: Friday September 23, 2022

The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County is seeking submissions for its Native American Heritage Month art exhibition. It may be common practice to display Indigenous artwork and crafts alongside dinosaurs, but our aim is to show that Native American arts and culture is “Still Here.” We’re seeking submissions that tell YOUR story. Send us your photography, paintings, and mixed/multi-media works. Have sculptures, ceramics, beadwork, quillwork, basket weaving, Regalia, instruments, or textiles? Nothing is too big or too small (we encourage you to think outside the box and get creative!)

WHO CAN ENTER? We welcome submissions from artists affiliated with any Native American tribe, nation-wide. Selected artists will be notified no later than September 30, 2022 via email (so please double check your entry for accuracy!)

WHAT CAN I SUBMIT? All mediums are welcome and selected works will be displayed in our main gallery. This includes photography, paintings, mixed/multi-media work, sculptures, ceramics, beadwork and textiles, Regalia, basket weaving, quillwork, and instruments. If your submission has cultural/historical significance, we ask that you include that information alongside your submission so we can spread that knowledge!

Please note: The Arts Council uses a Walker Hanging System, so any hanging works should be appropriately framed with a wire hanger. 3D works will be displayed on pedestals throughout the gallery.

WHEN IS THIS THING? The exhibition opens October 27, 2022 and runs through November 27, 2022, but here are some other helpful dates to keep in mind:
