For the month of October we’re looking to liven up  the gallery with an exhibition that really POPs off the wall (or page)! This call for art is seeking a colorful combination of pop art and illustration art works. Not sure if your work is what would be considered pop art or illustration? We welcome unique interpretations of those labels to apply!

This will be a physical visual art exhibit located in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. All United States artists are eligible.The show will be through most of October, 2022 at 311 Gallery, located at 311 W Martin St, Raleigh, NC. All artworks must be physical, for sale, and ready for installation (details further below in call).

EXHIBITION DETAILS:

This exhibition is for art whose primary genre or style inspiration is pop art or illustration, both 2D and 3D works are allowed. We are not accepting audio or video submissions for this call. Works must be for sale and should not exceed 72  inches in any dimension unless . Works of all mediums (painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, etc.) will be considered. Digital submissions (i.e. photography or digital illustration) must be printed, physical works Works to be accepted. Works will be accepted on a piece-by-piece basis, meaning if you apply with more than one piece, we may accept some of your work and not others due to space limitations. The exhibition will be held at 311 Gallery in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina during the month of October, 2022.

This is not a digital exhibition, if your work is accepted, it will need to be shipped/hand delivered to the gallery. 

- Entries must be received by 11:59 pm CST Sept. 23, 2022 (12:59 am EST)

- Entries must not exceed 72 inches in any dimension to be exhibited. 

- Entries must be for sale.

- Up to 4 entries per artist. The first work is $30, each subsequent piece is $5 extra, up to a maximum of 4 works/$45.

- Juried with JPEGs, one per work. If you are submitting 3D work that requires additional perspective images, you can include multiple views of the work in one image. Images that contain 2 separate works of art will be disqualified.

- Works will be accepted on a piece-by-piece basis due to space limitations. This means some work may be accepted from an artist while others from the same artist are not.

- All mediums will be considered so long as they are for sale and reasonably easy to display/install.

- Commission rate is 60% artist, 40% Gallery. Commission is sent to the artist approximately 30 days after the date of sale. If work sells, the artist will be notified as soon as possible.

- Open to all artists in the United States

- If accepted, 2D artworks must hang by wire or other acceptable, easy to install means. 3D works must be able to stand with no or minimal assistance, or come with necessary display items i.e. hangars, hooks, stands, etc. The gallery has a limited supply of pedestals.

- Artists will be notified of acceptance status approximately one week after the call ends. Please be sure to check your spam for emails.

- If works are accepted, artists will be notified of drop-off/mail-in dates. Works should be shipped so that they will be received by the Gallery by dates featured below. See further in this call for shipping/delivery information.


 

ENTRY FEE: $30. All entry fees are non-refundable and go toward making 311 a sustainable, family-owned small business. These fees cover various costs including but not limited to: staff labor, marketing, print materials, show prep, reception materials and more. 

Fee is $30 for 1 work, and is an additional $5 per additional work submitted for consideration up to a max of 4 works/$45.

This exhibit is open to any living artist in the United States. Entries must be either hand delivered to the gallery or mailed in a returnable container. Expected drop-off/mail-in dates are below, but you will be notified upon acceptance of solidified dates:

September 29th & 30th, from 12 - 4 pm

October 1st 12 - 6pm

ACCESSIBILITY:

SHIPPING ARTWORK

Ship artwork using a sturdy, reusable packing materials clearly labeled with your name and telephone number. Following the exhibition each artist who shipped their work should generate a FedEx/UPS label or USPS postage and email it to exhibit@311artgallery.com so the piece may be returned. Make your artwork secure, but as easy as possible to unpackage and re-package. We have to unbox approximately 80-100 pieces per show, and the easier this is for us to do, the more we appreciate you! Do not use styrofoam packing peanuts.

If you live within driving distance of the  gallery, we encourage you to deliver your work by hand. If accepted, artists will be notified of solidified delivery dates and information after the call has been closed.

SALES

311 Gallery will retain a commission of 40% for all work sold during the exhibit. Commission checks will be cut and mailed approximately 30 days after the time of sale.


 

Application Requirements

Application Requirements: Please submit at least one 2D or 3D work(s) of art to be considered for this exhibition. ENTRY GUIDELINES:

To submit images of your work, please review these instructions:

Still images should be sent as jpegs should be at least 1000px at their widest dimension, up to 2000px, and are not to exceed 4MB per image. Images should be cropped to only show the artwork and nothing else, and with proper lighting. A huge part of the jurying process is how well your photos are presented.

For 2D and 3D Work (exhibit): Juried with JPEGs, one photo per work. If you are submitting 3D work that requires additional perspective images, you can include multiple views of the work in one image. Images that contain 2 separate works of art will be disqualified.

No video or audio works are eligible for submission.
