Shenandoah Valley Art Center is accepting submissions from Virginia artists for exhibitions in the Cabell-Arehart Invitational Gallery. SVAC is a non-profit community art center located in historic downtown Waynesboro, Virginia. The Cabell-Arehart Invitational Gallery is a light filled space with approximately 80 running feet of wall space.

Works are expected to be framed, or otherwise presented ready to hang using our picture rail and STAS hanging system. Sculpture must be able to stand freely on its own. A full complement of sculpture stands are available.

Application Requirements

All artists must be based in Virginia. 

All submissions must include 10 images of past and current work, a statement of exhibition intent, an artist's statement, and a biography/CV. The images submitted should be a cross section of your work to show scale, capability, and presentation. The submitted images are not required to be exhibited if selected. Our standards committee is specifically looking for newly completed works that make a cohesive statement. All works must be completed by you within the past 3 years. Proposals for group exhibitions will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

Artists (or groups) must be based in the state of Virginia. 

Artists are responsible for shipping or dropping off works. If works are shipped, artists must include a prepaid return shipping label with the work.
