The Art Gallery at Western Wyoming Community College is pleased to accept submissions for Contemporary Printmaking. Printmaking occupies a unique space in the contemporary art world. Printmakers, while often among the most experimental and cutting edge artists, are also paradoxically reliant on highly traditional processes. We are interested in showcasing prints that speak to contemporary issues, explore fresh perspectives, or generally demonstrate the breadth of possibilities available while working--either partially or fully--within the idiom of hand-pulled prints.

Application Requirements

ENTRY FEE:

Artists may submit one image for $15 dollars, and up to four additional images at a cost of $5 each.

MEDIUM REQUIREMENTS:

Artworks must include some element of hand-pulled print (e.g. intaglio, relief print, screen print, lithograph, monotype, etc.).

SHIPPING:

Artists will ship their work to the gallery at their own expense, and must include a self-addressed shipping label with their artwork for the gallery to ship any unsold artwork back.

When shipping artwork, do not use packing peanuts.

Accepted artwork must labelled on the back with the artist's name, title of work, medium, and price, or if not for sale. If not for sale, please include an insurance value.

FRAMING & DISPLAY:

Accepted artworks must be wired and framed in. No sawtooth hangers will be permitted.

Additionally, accepted artworks must remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

The gallery reserves the right not to exhibit artworks that diverge significantly in their appearance from their photographs, artwork that arrives damaged or constitutes an unreasonable risk to the gallery, or whose artists fail to follow the guidelines of this prospectus.

INSURANCE:

Artwork will be insured by the gallery while on display. Insurance value will be 50% of the listed sales price, or if the work is not for sale, the listed insurance value.

SALES:

The gallery will take 50% commission on any artworks sold during the exhibition.

Artists who wish to have their work for sale during the exhibition, must fill out and submit a W-9 to the gallery.
