Video
Applications are being accepted for video art that will be displayed on four screens (each 42”).  Artists working in all genres are encouraged to apply and may present a single work spanning all four screens or may present different visuals on each screen (with one audio file). Selected videos will be presented in rotation for up to a three-month period.  Works no more than five minutes in length are desired and should not be highly dependent on sound due to the nature of the public space.

Deadline for submission: Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10:59pm PST

About the Gallery
Bothell City Hall Gallery, 18415 101st Ave NE
The City Hall gallery is an open space in the main lobby and hallway leading to City Council Chambers. Around the open gallery space are city office reception desks that are frequented by the public and city personnel.

Promotion
Exhibitions are publicized through city-generated press releases and the City’s website. Artists may choose to independently produce supplemental publicity and show business cards during exhibition.

Sales
Artists are encouraged to offer their works for sale, but are not required to do so. All sales are handled privately between the artist and the buyer. The City of Bothell does not take a commission on any works sold through the gallery.

Hours of Operation
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5pm with evening meetings frequently occurring. City Hall is closed on government holidays.

Selection Process
A panel will select artists for the gallery space and based upon demonstrated or potential artistic merit. The panel considers a variety of genres, as well as geographic and culturally diverse works. Applications will also be evaluated on appropriateness in concept and content for a public location.

Project Period
Selected art and video will be scheduled for 2023 and 2024 immediately following the selection of artists. Every effort will be made to accommodate artists’ preferred exhibition dates; but there is no guarantee. Each exhibition will be 2-4 months in duration.

Exhibit Set-Up
The 2-dimensional gallery uses 60 square feet of professional STAS j-rail max hanging system with ample natural light filtering through an atrium ceiling.  All 2-dimensional work must be mounted or framed and ready to hang with wires.  All 2-dimensional work must be delivered and picked up in person and will be installed with assistance from the City of Bothell staff.

Selected video artists will work with staff to develop final output.

Application deadline: Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10:59pm PST
