“Impressions – the Art of the Print” A national juried exhibition.

“ImPRESSions” is a national juried exhibit of original printmaking art. All printmaking methods are accepted. The goal of the exhibit is to present original printmaking methods and to educate visitors about printmaking as an art form and the difference between the art form of printmaking versus the reproduction of art called a “print.”
 

Timeline:

Monday, January 12, 2023: Application deadline.

Friday, January 13 – Wednesday, January 18, 2023: Online jury process.

Friday, January 20, 2023: Notifications to artists

Wed - Mon, February 15- 20 2023: Shipped work due

Monday, February 20, 2023: Hand delivery of artwork due

Friday, February 25, 2023: Opening Reception

Monday, April 3, 2023: Pick up of artwork

Week of April 10th, 2023: Shipped work sent out

This juried exhibit will present the many different types of printmaking methods, including monotype, etchings, drypoint, lithography, woodcut, linocut, collagraph, and screenprint. Final printed substrate does not have to be paper. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months.  Work that has been previously displayed at TCA is not eligible.  All work must be the original creation of the artist.

ARTWORK:

No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close of the exhibition on Sunday, April 4, 2022, including sold art.

JUROR: Jennifer Clarke

Born in the UK. Graduated from Goldsmiths College School of Art, London in sculpture and printmaking. Moved to Denmark and worked for forty years as a conservator of decorative arts. She returned to printmaking in the mid 90’s attending workshops to learn about non-toxic printmaking. Twelve years ago she discovered mezzotint which has become her main medium. She has exhibited her mezzotints in juried shows nationally and internationally, winning several awards for best in show and purchase awards.

In 2016 she moved permanently to the US and in 2020 became an American citizen.

PRESENTATION:

All artwork must arrive ready to hang.  If framed, work must be suitably matted, (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired. No sawtooth hangers.  TCA reserves the right to disqualify any selected entry upon arrival that does not meet the above requirements or is deemed unsuitable for display.

JURY/FEES

Payments are made at the end of the CaFE™ entry process either via credit card online or a check mailed to the art center. 

Jurying will be done on the basis of digital images in a jpg format only. Up to five (5) works may be entered for consideration. 

Non-refundable fee 
$35 ($32 with TCA Member discount) for the first 2 entries
$3 each additional entry image up to 3 entries 
($2 each additional image fee with TCA Member discount) 

The Member discount code is PRINT23 for the entry fee which includes the first 2 images. Additional image entries will receive a discount with the code PRINT23X.  Discounts are taken at checkout. You must be a current member to use the discount code.  Any submissions by nonmembers taking the member discount will be disqualified from the jurying process without refund. Members receive discounts on fees to all exhibitions as well as discounts in our gift shop and to special events. SALES:

All work must be for sale. TCA will retain a 40% commission.  Price work accordingly. 

SHIPPING:

Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA.  Unsold work will be shipped back to the artist after close of the exhibition.  Artists must provide a barcoded preprinted PREPAID shipping label for the return of their artwork.  Please, no Styrofoam peanuts.
