Conceptual Photography Exhibition

Calling fine art photographers who
are pursuing higher ideals in the use of photography with unique experimentations, bold expressions and eye-catchinig installations. D'art Gallery is looking for work that takes fine art photography to new places.

Defy the laws of nature, catch the uncatchable, and make it fantastical.
The Gallery loves portraits of emotions, and the merging of nature and human
elements. Your images can be realistic or surreal, imaginative or quiet, creepy or comforting. Let us see what you’re up to.


Juror, Mark Sink, is a private art consultant, represents and curates local and
international cutting-edge fine art photography. Mark is a co-founder
of The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, founder of the Month of
Photography Denver and The Big Picture street art projects and the
Denver Collage Club. His personal fine art photography is shown and
collected worldwide. @marksink

CASH PRIZES
Four prizes will be presented to artists and announced at the Opening Reception of the show, as selected by the Juror. Best of Show ($300) and three Honorable Mentions ($100 each).

SHOWING VENUE:
The show is being held in D’art Gallery, 900 Santa Fe Drive in Denver, in the Art District on Santa Fe. D’art Gallery emphasizes contemporary art, in a well-lit comfortable setting.

SIZE RESTRICTIONS
Maximum size of artwork is 5’ (60”) wide and 8’ (96”) tall, including frame. **Shipping or packing container limited to 6 feet x 8 feet ** Maximum weight of artwork is 50 pounds.

 

DEADLINE
The deadline to enter for consideration in this show is midnight (MST) on January 24, 2023.

NOTIFICATION
Results of the judging will be emailed the week of January 30, 2023

EXHIBITION DATES
Accepted work will be exhibited at D’art Gallery in Denver, CO: March 16 - April 9, 2023.

FEES
$40 flat fee for up to three art pieces/images. Entry fees may be paid by credit card only through callforentry.org. Fees are non-refundable and do not guarantee acceptance in the exhibition. 

ACCEPTED WORK
Accepted artists will receive instructions for shipping and hand delivery. Shipping and return shipping costs and insurance are the responsibility of the artist. 
For shipped work, reusable shipping containers only. D’art Gallery encourages artists to insure their artwork when shipping, and we strongly encourage using Plexiglass for shipped work. Shipped work accepted up until March 11, 2023, Shipping address will be sent to accepted artists.

No packing peanuts allowed. Any shipped artwork found with packing peanuts will not be unpacked, displayed, or eligible for an award.
All shipped artwork must include a pre-paid return-shipping label.  Work will be held until a pre-paid label is provided.

Artists may hand-deliver accepted artwork at D’art Gallery on  Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12, 2023, during regular gallery hours (Sat noon – 5 PM; Sun 1 – 4 PM) or by special arrangement with a member of D’art Gallery with more than one week notice. 

All accepted artwork is due by Sunday, March 12, 2023, at
4:00 PM, and will not be included in the exhibition if late.

SPECIFICATIONS
All works accepted for the exhibition must be artist original, and ready to install. Substitutions of accepted works will not be allowed and all delivered work must match the image juried into the exhibition.  No work that has been exhibited in the gallery prior will be accepted.

Artwork must be ready to install or display, and a set-up diagram must accompany multiple pieces positioned together to form a whole. Complicated installations require artist or artist's representative to install.  Fragile work needs to be labeled as such in the box it is delivered or shipped in. 

No saw-tooth hangers.  All framed artwork must be wired and ready to hang. All exhibited work must be for sale. 

Frames, mats, and wiring must be of professional quality and in good condition. Wiring must be in good condition and substantial enough for the weight of the artwork.  

No saw-tooth hangers. No audio-video artworks accepted. 
Accepted artwork may not be removed from D’art Gallery prior to the close of the exhibition.

SALES

All exhibited artwork must be for sale.
Any artwork sold to the public will incur a 30% commission. Prices quoted on the entry form may not be changed after acceptance.  Buyer will be charged sales tax for Denver area. 

No purchased work may be removed from D’art Gallery before the close of the exhibition, unless arrangements are made in advance and permission granted by D’art Gallery. 

Artists will be notified by email of any sales, and will be mailed payment for any sold works within one month of the close of the exhibition. 

PICK UP
Due to D’art Gallery’s extremely limited storage space, artwork left more than 30 days after close of the exhibit will be considered abandoned and deemed the property of D’art Gallery unless arrangements have been made in writing and agreed upon by both parties. 

Pick-up is on April 9, 2023, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, unless other arrangements are made with the gallery. Shipped work will be packaged and shipped to artists on April 10, 2023.
