Gallery Route One’s Annual Juried Exhibition for 2023

Juror: Jeremy P.H. Morgan, faculty member of the Lucid Art Foundation, California, Visiting Professor at Shanghai Academy and the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou.

Exhibition Dates:  Saturday, Feb. 18 – Sat. March 18, 2023

Reception and Awards:  Saturday, Feb 18, 3-5 pm

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY:  Midnight MDT, December 2, 2022

Deliver work:  February 12, 13

Pickup unsold work:  March 19, 20 

Eligibility: All artists currently living in California 

Media: All media except video, crafts or installation

Size:  Not to exceed 5’ (60”) in any direction

Entry Fee: $15 per artwork entry, up to a maximum of 4 total entries.

APPLICATION:  Online only, through callforentry.org 

JURYING PROCESS:  Jurying will be from digital images submitted through callforentry.org. 

Notification of acceptance or exclusion from the exhibition will be sent via email in the third week of December. 

AWARDS:  Juror will select one Best of Show for an award of $300; two Gift Awards for $100 gift certificates from Blick Art Materials, plus three non-cash Awards of Merit.

ACCEPTED WORK:  Artwork must be clean, framed, wired and ready to hang or place on a base. Paint and any other materials must be dry. Each artwork must be clearly labeled on the back or bottom of the piece with the following information:

PRICE OR NFS

INSURANCE:  GRO does not offer insurance to cover your artwork while it is in the gallery or in transit to or from the gallery.  If you require insurance for your piece you should pursue this on your own.

DELIVER WORK:  Hand deliver artwork on Sunday, February 12, between 4 and 7 PM or on Monday, February 13, 11-5 PM.

Work that cannot be hand delivered must be shipped at the artist’s expense both to Gallery Route One and from GRO if the work is not sold. Artist must ship work in a reusable carton. Work that is not prepaid for return or not shipped in a two-way carton will not be accepted. Please contact juriedshow@galleryrouteone.org for date of delivery and other instructions.

SALES:  Gallery Route One’s commission is 45%.  Work will be for sale at the price indicated by the artist upon submission of entry, plus tax.  Sale of artwork is subject to GRO’s commission until the end of the exhibit.
