Fiber Reimagined II Call for Entry, February 1-29, 2024. Artists are invited to enter original innovative art created from fiber and recycled and repurposed mixed media. Artwork must include a fiber component or textile technique. Artworks must be of original design completed after January 1, 2020.

This juried exhibition will appear in the summer issue of Fiber Art Now to be released early July 2024. Artworks juried into the exhibition will be eligible for the onsite exhibition at Gravers Lane Gallery and GLG@1213, both in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 6 through November 12, 2023.

Other events happening in Philadelphia in the fall of 2024 that bring collectors, curators, and artists to the community are Philadelphia Museum of Art’s annual craft show presented each November, and CraftNOW a leader in Philadelphia’s craft community for artists based in wood, clay, fiber, metal, and glass.

Entries are submitted using the CAFE Call for Entry Application Managment. There is no charge to create a CAFE account, callforentry.org.

Fiber Reimagined II will be juried by the Fiber Art Now creative team. We are fortunate that our Fiber Art Now creative team all have university degrees in the arts. These accomplished artists are the jurors for Fiber Reimagined:

• Lori Butanis: Fiber Art Now creative director, graphic artist, art director
• Barbara Delaney: Fiber Art Now editor, writer, and former managing editor of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine.
• Beth Smith: Fiber Art Now managing editor and exhibitions director, and Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles founding executive director emerita
• Cami Smith: Fiber Art Now media manager and contributing editor.

Notification of INVITED or NOT INVITED will appear in your CAFE account after the jurying has been completed by March 30, 2024. You will receive a notification from CAFE with acceptance or regrets. Multiple submissions may receive two different email notifications. Email notifications will list each artwork as Invited or Not Invited. Please check SPAM.

Entry fee: $30 for up to three entries. Fiber Art Now subscribers: $20 with the discount code FR2024. Use the discount code at check out. Entries close at midnight Mountain Time Zone, USA. CAFE does not let you go back into your application to make changes or corrections. Review your entry before checking out.

Application Requirements

Artists may submit up to three individual works of art. Enter only full images, NO detail images. Images must be 5MB or less. There are no dimension restrictions. 

For each entry, list the information separately for each piece starting with the title of the work in the categories: materials, technique, dimensions, year completed, insurance value, retail value, photo credit, and artist statement. List dimensions as Height x Width x Depth.

Juried selections will include only one artwork per artist. Prizes will be awarded for First prize $300, Second prize $250, and Third prize $200.

Invited artists will be contacted by the staff at Gravers Lane Gallery regarding selections for the onsite exhibition, shipping dates to and from the museum, and any other requirements. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the Gallery.

Eligibility Criteria

International subscribers of Fiber Art Now are eligible to enter Fiber Reimagined II.  International non-subscribers are also eligible to enter. A discounted entry fee is available to Fiber Art Now subscribers to use at check out.
