ABOUT THE JUROR
Born in the Philippines and raised in the high desert of Southern California, Renee Villasenor (they/them) is an arts worker and curator based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Ramaytush Ohlone homelands.  Villasenor's work is informed by their experiences as a queer, Undocumented immigrant, and their love of affect theory. They are dedicated to dismantling white supremacy within arts institutions and expanding the boundaries of curatorial work through community-centered collaboration, intergenerational storytelling, and care.

Villasenor is currently the inaugural Programs Manager and Curatorial Associate at the Institute of Contemporary Art in San Francisco. Prior to joining the ICA SF, Villasenor was the Assistant Manager of Public Programs at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (de Young/Legion of Honor).

GALLERY PRESENTATION: IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL / GALLERY HOURS & SITTING
Sanchez Art Center is open to drop in visitors at no cost.  (SAC Staff regularly monitors the current health situation and adjusts as needed to State and County guidelines.)  Based on positive response in 2020—2022, SAC will also be presenting all works selected for the 2023 LCA in our online galleries (SanchezArtCenterVirtualGalleries.org).

In person gallery visiting hours are Fri – Sat – Sun, 1-5pm, or by appointment during other days.  Each artist is encouraged to gallery sit from 1 to 3 pm or 3 to 5 pm for one day (Friday–Sunday) during the show.

SALES
Sales are encouraged. SAC retains a 30% commission on any works sold. Artists should include the 30% commission in the sales price. Sales tax will be administered by SAC.

SHIPPING & RETURN OF ACCEPTED ARTWORKS
Shipped work must arrive at SAC by 5 pm on Monday, April 3. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Shipped work must be sent with a prepaid return shipping label inside the package. We will re-use your packaging for returns, so make sure it is sturdy. We appreciate you checking that your shipping company, particularly for very large/heavy works, will pick up at Sanchez Art Center, to minimize SAC Staff needing to deliver packages to shippers.

LIABILITY
Sanchez Art Center carries $150,000 art insurance for damage or theft, subject to a deductible of $500, for which the Art Center will not be liable. The artist must agree to accept the terms and conditions of the policy and to release Sanchez Art Center, its Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and agents; the Art Guild of Pacifica; and the City of Pacifica from any further liability.

ARTIST COMMITMENT
By submitting your work for consideration, you agree that the work will be available during the exhibition dates listed in this prospectus/call for entries, and that you will deliver and pick up your work on the dates specified. Alternate work may not be substituted for work selected by the juror. You also grant Sanchez Art Center permission to use images of accepted works for public relations, marketing, and archival purposes.
