The 2023 Hi-Art Exhibit will be a combination of virtual and a live exhibit in our front gallery. Selected award winners will be presented live at Tubac Center of the Arts opening Friday, April 7, 2023.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

Senior students are encouraged to apply with a written scholarship application and an image of their best artwork created during the 2022-2023 school year for consideration of the $3,000 college scholarship.

The annual Hi-Art exhibit offers students an opportunity to learn how to professionally present their artwork, share and sell their art with the community, and visitors to the Tubac Center of the Arts.

How to Apply:

High school students must create a profile in the CAFE system and upload one image to their portfolio before proceeding with the application. Follow the CAFE guidelines on how to size and upload images. Learn more at https://www.callforentry.org/artist-help-cafe/how-to-apply-artists/.

• Each artist may submit one image of original art created during the 2022-2023 school year.
• Artwork may be for sale with the price determined by the artist. The artist will receive 100 percent of the sale. TCA does not take a commission on student art.
• All wall art, printmaking, drawings, paintings, MUST BE FRAMED AND WIRED for hanging to qualify for inclusion in the exhibition. No sawtooth hangers.
• By applying to the exhibit, the artist agrees to release the use of images of their artwork for promotional use for the exhibition and future Hi-Art exhibits. All artists participating agree to release the use of images of themselves as well as their art for promotional use by Tubac Center of the Arts for future Hi-Art exhibits, for TCA general promotions, and as a permanent record of the exhibit.
• Failure to comply with exhibit rules will disqualify the entry from the exhibition and from the scholarship application opportunity.

Dates & Deadlines:

Monday, March 20: Entry Deadline
Week of, April 3: Artists notified of acceptance and artwork picked up by TCA staff.
Friday, April 7: Live opening reception at TCA
Sunday, May 1: Last day of the exhibit.
Week of May 22: Art returned to schools.

Senior Scholarship: $3,000 college scholarship

Award of Excellence: $250
Award of Merit: $175
Honorable Mention: $150
