The 2023 Casa Bonita Art Show

ALL ART MUST DIRECTLY RELATE TO THE CASA BONITA RESTAURANT IN LAKEWOOD, COLORADO!

NEXT Gallery is thrilled to host the 6th Annual Casa Bonita Art Show 

Casa Bonita is a 52,000 sq-ft restaurant in Lakewood, Colorado. The restaurant houses a 3-story waterfall, gunfights, gorilla chases, puppet shows, a haunted cave and much, much more.

The restaurant, which opened its doors in 1974, was closed during COVID. Casa Bonita is now under new ownership and is undergoing extensive upgrades and renovations. We are all anxiously waiting for the doors to re-open. 

NEXT Gallery looking for art that tells the tale of Casa Bonita. What makes Casa Bonita part of our narrative? The fables, the facts, the fictions, the legends. Our goal is to create a visual “snapshot” of the Casa Bonita experience. 

This is a national juried call, and is open to artwork in all mediums. Cash prizes will be awarded.

SELECTION

Submissions will be juried by Casa Bonita Art Show founder, Dolla B and Casa Bonita Aficionado, Andrew Novick 

NEXT Gallery is an artist owned and operated gallery whose mission is to promote art appreciation and education through community outreach. 

DEADLINE

The deadline to enter for consideration in this show is midnight, (MST)  February 6, 2023. No late applications will be considered.

NOTIFICATION

Results of the judging will be emailed February 10th, 2023. Art drop-off will take place February 11, 12 and 13th. 

Specific arrangements will be made with out-of-state artists.

EXHIBITION DATES

Accepted work will be exhibited at NEXT Gallery from Friday, February 17 - Saturday, March 4, 2023. 

FEES

$25 entry fee per submission of any medium. Entry fees must be paid through callforentry.org , fees are non-refundable and do not guarantee acceptance into the show.

SALES

Any artwork sold will incur a 30% commission. Prices quoted on the entry form may not be changed after acceptance. Buyer will be charged sales tax for Lakewood area and buyer will be charged any applicable shipping fees. 

Purchased artwork must remain in the gallery until the exhibition closes.

Artists will be notified by email of any sales, and will receive payment for any sold works within one month of the close of the exhibition.

PICKUP

Unsold artwork must be picked up Sunday, March 5, 2023 unless prior arrangements have been made. Mailed artwork will be returned the week of March 6, 2023.

Application Requirements

 Application Requirements:

Submissions will only be accepted through Callforentry.org (www.callforentry.org).  Entries and credit card payment must be submitted on or before the posted deadline, with no entries accepted after this date.

Upload requirements for image files:

• File format: JPEG only
• File dimensions: No smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side
• File resolution: 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution)
• File size: 5 MB maximum
• Image must be correctly oriented (vertical or horizontal)
• No digital enhancement is allowed
• Maximum of 3 photos per entry

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility:

All artwork must be original in concept and not copied from another artist's work. 

Only entries submitted online through callforentry.org will be considered. 

The 2023 Casa Bonita Art Show is open to all.
