The Alaska State Museum is accepting applications for its Solo Artist Exhibition Series
The Alaska State Museum is issuing a call for entry for its upcoming solo artist exhibition series. Five Alaska artists will be selected for the series, which runs fall of 2024 through spring of 2026. Applications are due Saturday, September 23, 2023 by 9:59 PM Alaska Time. Selected artists will be announced after October 2023.
Artists are strongly encouraged to develop new work for this opportunity (you may use existing work in your application). Applications will be reviewed by a committee of museum staff and artist professionals. Selections will be based primarily on the quality of the submitted work, on the artist’s record of professional activity (artist’s resume), and the exhibition proposal (letter of intent). Application Requirements

Original work in any media.
SUBMISSION
To be considered for a solo exhibition, all applicants must submit the following on CaFÉ:
- 10 high-quality digital images that reflect the type of work you wish to exhibit. Submit each entry as a JPEG file, size under 5 MB. (The artist also has the option to submit up to 5 video files, size under 100 MB.)
- Cover sheet with the artist's name and address and a detailed list of the work submitted, including title, medium, dimensions, and date of creation for each.
- Artist's resume listing the exhibition history of the applicant.
- Letter of intent describing in detail the artist's proposed exhibition.

Eligibility Criteria
Open to all resident Alaskan visual artists 18 years of age or older who have not had a solo exhibition at the museum within the past ten years.
