CPAC’s Annual Members’ Show
Call for Entries – Deadline: April 7, 2023

The Colorado Photographic Arts Center announces its annual juried members’ photography exhibition. This year’s jurors are Mia Dalglish & Lisa Woodward, Co-Curators at Pictura Gallery in Bloomington, Indiana. The exhibition will be a survey of new work made by CPAC members, and is intended to highlight the creative talents of CPAC’s constituency. There is no theme. The show is open to current, registered members of the organization only. If you are not a member of CPAC you can become one online.

Awards

  • Best in Show Purchase Award: receives $300 and the selected image becomes part of CPAC’s permanent photography collection.
  • Director’s Choice: $100 award
  • Honorable Mention Award(s)

All awardees will receive a printed copy of the exhibition catalog.

DEADLINES & INFORMATION

Applicant submission deadline: Friday, April 7, 2023 (midnight MDT)

Application notifications sent: Friday, April 28, 2023

Accepted work to gallery: Friday, June 23, 2023

Exhibition dates: June 30 – August 5, 2023 (these dates might shift slightly)

Opening Reception & Award ceremony scheduled for: Saturday, July 15, 2023, 5 - 8pm

Fees: First three images are free for current members (a code has been emailed out); $5 for each additional image.  If you’re not a member, pay the $50 entry fee and you will receive a free CPAC membership at the Individual level (1-year).

JURORS
Lisa Woodward and Mia Dalglish work collaboratively as Co-Curators for Pictura Gallery, a non-profit contemporary photography space in Bloomington, IN. Mia is an alumna of the Indiana University Photography Program. Upon graduation she worked at the International Center for Photography. Lisa is an alumna of the Rhode Island School of Design in photography. They have worked together for 13 years, producing a wide range of exhibitions and advising photographers through different phases of their careers. Together, they serve as guest critics for university classrooms and as portfolio reviewers for international conferences, festivals and competitions such as Review Santa Fe, Fotofest, Photolucida, and Les Rencontres d’Arles. Pictura is housed in the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts, offering new educational programs, and pursuing the intersection of photography and other art forms, such as dance, performance, music, and poetry.

ENTRY GUIDELINES
If you have any questions about the guidelines please call 303-837-1341 or email info@cpacphoto.org. The code can be acquired during normal business hours of the gallery before the deadline for entry.

Current members will receive an email with a code to submit. Or members can call 303-837-1341 or email info@cpacphoto.org for the code. You must be a current CPAC member to enter. If you are not a member of CPAC you can become one online or pay the entry fee and you will become a CPAC member.

Final exhibition sizes must be specified, if the work is framed include that in the size.

The Gallery also understands that work may be presented in a non-traditional way that is integral to the art. Please contact us in advance if you feel your work fits into these criteria. 

The gallery must receive artwork no later than Friday, June 23, 2023. CPAC will charge a 30% sales commission.

Eligibility Criteria

ELIGIBILITY
All lens-based media are eligible, including but not limited to images made by film, scanner, screen-capture, digital camera, and any means of mobile photography. Entry is open to regional, national, and international members of CPAC.
