Atlanta Print Biennial
The Atlanta Print Biennial is an international juried exhibition, open to all artists working in hand-pulled printmaking processes. The exhibit is organized by Atlanta Printmakers Studio and hosted by Kai Lin Art, a contemporary art gallery located in the vibrant Westside District of Midtown Atlanta, GA.
This year’s juror is Miranda K. Metcalf. Metcalf holds a B.A. from the University of Washington in Philosophy and an M.A. from the University of Arizona in Art History, focusing on printmaking. After graduating, she became the Director of Contemporary Printmaking at Davidson Galleries in Seattle, Washington. In 2017 she moved to Sydney, Australia, where she worked with the world-renowned Cicada Press at the University of New South Wales. After two years Down Under, she relocated to Bangkok, Thailand, to take a director position at S.A.C. Gallery. She returned to the United States in 2021 and is a freelance writer, podcaster, and director of the month-long printmaking festival Print Santa Fe. Her podcast Hello, Print Friend is the longest-running print-centric podcast, with over 200 episodes featuring artists from thirty countries. When not working, she is gazing adoringly at her two Thai street dogs, which now live with her in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The Atlanta Printmakers Studio (APS) was established in 2005 to support the fine art of printmaking in metro Atlanta. Founders envisioned an organization that would provide a well-equipped printmaking studio for local artists as well as raise the awareness of printmaking as an art form. Atlanta Printmakers Studio provides a full range of vital and unique services and programs for artists and the general public. Members rent time in the professional studio for a fee. APS offers seasoned artists and novices alike opportunities to enroll in a range of printmaking classes and workshops. Besides activity in the studio, APS has developed a continuing calendar of outreach events to serve the local community. Each year programing has grown as we’ve added annual artist residencies, student scholarships, collectors prints, artist exchanges and an increasing number of exhibitions. We have received support for our programs from the Fulton County Arts Council, the Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs, Georgia Council for the Arts, the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, LUBO Fund, Sara Giles Moore Foundation, and many generous private donors. We welcome all artists and the general public to join us in creating, learning about, and collecting fine art prints.
MISSION: The mission of the Atlanta Printmakers Studio is to nurture the practice of printmaking as an original art form among professional artists and everyone who wants to learn. APS exists to provide studio space and equipment for artist renters and offers classes, workshops, community outreach, residencies, internships, and exhibitions in order to enhance the understanding of and appreciation for fine art printmaking.
