Art

1.       Art exhibited must be of equal quality as submitted application.

2.      Artists may only exhibit work in the media category in which they were accepted.

3.      The emphasis of the tour is original work.  At least half of the inventory presented needs to be original.

4.       Limited edition prints (1,000 or less) are permitted in reasonably sized editions and must be signed and numbered by the artist.

5.      Artists sharing billing (collaborative work) must both contribute to the creation of the work.

6.     Artists sharing a household with separate media will not be considered collaborative artists and will need to submit separate applications and fees.

7.      All artists, hosts and guests, must be accepted by the Studio West Art Tour jury panel.

Host Studio Site

1.       Host Artists must be current Member Artists of Hopkins Center for the Arts.

2.      To be considered for a Host Studio the site must be within the cities of St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Deephaven, Tonka Bay, or Excelsior.  

3.      Artists must be present at the site throughout the official hours of the event.

4.      Sites must only be open during the official hours of the sale.  No pre- or post- hour sales.

5.      Participants must wear nametags provided by Friends of HCA

6.     A site sign with Studio West Art Tour logo will be supplied by Friends of HCA.  No other signs will be permitted.  Signs must be returned to HCA.  No homemade signs.

7.      Friends of HCA will distribute wayfinding signs to the artists and throughout community.

8.      Artists will be responsible to contact local officials to ensure event parking is permitted.

9.     For additional educational outreach, artists are encouraged to present art-making demonstrations during the hours of the tour.

10.  Serving or consuming alcohol is prohibited during the hours of the event.

11.    Pets should be confined during the official hours of the event.

Legal

1.       Proof of Homeowners insurance for Host Studio must be submitted to HCA by August 1.  A new form must be submitted each year.

2.      Artists are responsible for collecting and reporting all taxes, including Minnesota state sales tax.

3.      All artists must submit a Minnesota ST19 form to HCA by August 1.

4.      Artist authorizes the use of any and/or all images of their work or event photos either submitted or taken during the tour to be used in any HCA promotional materials (print, social media, website).

5.      Artist releases and forever discharges Hopkins Center for the Arts (HCA), Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts, the City of Hopkins, and their directors, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers from any responsibility, personal liability, claims, loss or damage arising out of or in conjunction with application to or participation in Studio West Art Tour.

6.     Hopkins Center for the Arts (HCA), Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts, the City of Hopkins is not to be held responsible for any injury sustained by the artist, guest artists, or tour goers while at the site.

7.      Hopkins Center for the Arts (HCA), Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts, the City of Hopkins assumes no liability in case of loss or damage to artwork.

8.      Hopkins Center for the Arts (HCA), Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts, the City of Hopkins reserves the right to adjust or change any of preceding policies and guidelines, as it deems necessary.
