The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts is excited to present Studio West Art Tour, an early autumn ramble through the art studios and creative spaces of Minneapolis' western metropolitan communities.

Built on the tradition of the long-running Lake Minnetonka Studio Tour, Studio West expands the geographic reach. For both Host & Guest Artists it is a unique opportunity to connect with new audiences and collectors. Tour-goers will enjoy a self-guided experience exploring new territories of art-making, discovering both fresh talent and the latest work by established favorites.

This is a juried opportunity, Guest & Host Artists will be selected by the Studio West Art Tour jury panel.  Guest Artists needing placement will be assigned a Host Site by the panel.

 

Fees:

$20 non-refundable jury fee to apply.  

Selected Guest & Host Artists will be charged a $200 participation fee.

 

Important Dates:

Deadline to apply- May 15, 11:59pm Mountain Time

Notification of Jury Results- by May 26, 9pm Mountain Time

Load-in- September 15

Event- September 16, 10am-6pm & September 17, 11am-5pm

Application Requirements

All artists must submit at least 5 images of artworks representative of what they would offer for sale.  

Additionally, artists applying to be a Host Site must submit at least 3 images of their space, including one exterior photo.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to U.S. artists working in all mediums. Please note artists must be physically present on site during the hours of the event. The emphasis of the tour is on original work. Limited editions of 1000 or less are acceptable under the provisions below.  

Host Artists are required to be current members of the Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts. Host Sites must be located within the Minnesota cities of St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Deephaven, Tonka Bay, or Excelsior.  

Guest Artists are not required to be members of Friends of HCA.  

All work must be for sale.
