It is the mission of the Trinity Art Festival to encourage artists to create visual art providing a unique perspective on the Christian view and experience in contemporary life. The art is intended to allow personal expression and promote dialog.

Tension on the world stage, economic disruption due to COVID-19, environmental change and political polarization are some of the issues we face today. We sought a theme which acknowledged these challenges, but one which encourages us to respond with faith and hope.

We found inspiration in 2 Corinthians 4:8 - “... afflicted in every way but not crushed.” We hope this theme will provide inspiration for your artistic imagination. What are the challenges we face? Where do you find faith and hope in today’s world? How can faith help us find hope?

We are open to art that explicitly references faith, and art that is in conversation with the spirituality suggested by the theme.

Trinity Cathedral is a progressive Episcopal Community, we believe that we are here to love and to serve in the City of Sacramento and beyond. Our Art Show provides an opportunity for artists to join in a conversation about faith.

Accepted applicants will have their work exhibited at Trinity Cathedral Gallery in Sacramento, CA, from Oct. 14 - Nov. 5, 2023.

PRIZES: Total Cash Awards - $5,000

First place - $3,000; Second place - $1,500 Honorable Mention $500
