Comic Crossing: Art of the Graphic Narrative exhibit seeks to highlight the depth of the comic genre to todays comic and graphic narratives.  We welcome submissions that provide an expression of alternative perspectives and narrative; works that give viewers an opportunity to experience the “double literacy” of the visual and written word; examples of how written and drawn narratives can create complex stories and engagement with the past, present, and future; as well as submissions that show viewers the extent of graphic narrative as an artistic medium to the experiences of individuals and communities in response to established social, historic, and economic factors.

A mini Comic Con will be held during the Art Reception currently set for Saturday, July 22nd from 10am-4pm.  The Comic Con will be held in the Bankhead lobby, sidewalk and courtyard, free to the public.  This date may be subject to change.

All entries must be received in digital form by June 15, 2023.  Actual Artwork must be delivered on Tuesday, July 11, between 10am and 12noon.  We invite submissions on canvas, wood panel, metal, paper or similar substrate in any 2 or 3 dimensional medium that is suitable for and wired for hanging.  All media are accepted:  Oil, acrylic, colored pencil, drawing, mixed media, photography, etc.  Limited space available for sculpture and objects.

Exhibition produced by Livermore Valley Arts, www.LivermoreArts.org, at the Uncle Credit Union Art Gallery Exhibition Program within the Bankhead Theater in Livermore.
