Part of the Oglebay Institute mission is to serve as a resource for artists and emerging artists providing them opportunities to exhibit, sell and promote their work. The Holiday Art Show & Sale is a juried exhibition that provides space, staff and marketing resources to artists and gives the public a refreshing alternative to traditional retail. Shoppers can purchase one-of-a-kind gifts  for the holidays while becoming familiar with the work of numerous artists and artisans.

Important dates:

Deadline for entry: September 8, 2023 (11:59 pm MDT)

End of Jury Process: September 15, 2023

Notifications Emailed: Week of September 19, 2023

Accepted Artists Set up: November 4 and 6 - 8 (hours will be communicated in acceptance)

Opening Reception: November 10, 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Accepted Artists Tear Down: December 29 & 30 10 am - 3:30 pm


 

Application Requirements

Application Process:

•  Apply online by September 8, 2023  (11:59 p.m. MDT) at callforentry.org (you’ll need to set up a free 

     account)

•  Applications must include at least 5 images of what you plan to sell and 2 images of how you plan to arrange your exhibit space.

•  Application fee is $30.00

•  The exhibit space is divided in sections ranging in size from 3 ft - 8 ft.

•  Fees for exhibit space:  

   $45.00 for a 3ft. space (Schrader Center only)

   $65.00 for a 4ft. space

   $75.00 for a 5ft. space (Stifel Fine Art Center only)

   $85.00 for a 6ft. space freestanding (no wall space)

   $85.00 for a 6ft. space

   $105.00 for a 8ft. space

•  Payment in full for exhibit space fee and rentals are due upon acceptance into the show.

•  No refunds for cancellation after October 1, 2023.

•  Oglebay Institute will retain a 15% commission on sales. Please price your work accordingly.

•  Artist must provide their own tools, shelves, tables and set up for their exhibit space. 

•  Exhibit space will be lighted, however no other electricity is available.

•  Each accepted artist will be given an exhibit space number. That number must appear on all price tags.

•  Each item for sale must have a price tag that includes: the exhibit space number, the title of the piece or name of the item, artist’s name and the price of the item.


 

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility:

Artists: Open to all artists 18 and older who exhibit and sell work of original concept and design, and all work must be handmade. No manufacturer representatives will be accepted.

Gourmet Foods: Items sold must be specialty food products that are not widely commercially available. The applicant must be the company owner or principal producer of the products sold.
