The City of Glenwood Springs Better Together Mural Project 2.0 is the second annual mural project of its kind, bringing publicly accessed original artwork to the City’s downtown core. Presented in a festival style format, selected artists and artist groups will paint original designs on pre-identified electrical boxes and façade/s of City owned buildings in the downtown core over the course of a two-week period. In turn, community members will have the opportunity to interact with the artists and watch murals come to life. The public will also be invited to create an inspirational community mural in the downtown core.

Artists across Colorado are invited to submit a design that captures the spirit and culture of Glenwood Springs and amplifies the idea of Better Together. Artists are encouraged to submit a design that contributes to achieving the goals outlined in the City of Glenwood Spring’s Public Art Plan:

  • Connect people to the identity of our community.
  • Celebrate and enhance our community’s natural environment and beauty.
  • Connect to a culture of wellness.
  • Build upon our rich heritage.
  • Extol our cultural diversity.
  • Engage a sense a playfulness and whimsy.
  • Create place based economic development.

These submissions will be juriedby the Arts and Culture Board. Artists will be matched with the surface to be painted (electrical box, the community mural or a façade) by the Arts and Culture Board. Participating artists will receive a modest stipend for their time and to purchase their own materials.

Artists must submit an image of their design using CAFÉ (Call for Entry). Artists can create an account for FREE on CAFÉ on their website at: https://www.callforentry.org/.
