This exhibition provides artists with an opportunity to explore and express the profound themes of lore and family narratives through their unique artistic perspectives. Artists are invited to delve into the intricate stories, cultural traditions, and personal histories that shape our identities and understanding of the world.
Through their original artworks, artists are encouraged to reflect on the significance of lore and family narratives and interpret them in compelling ways. They are invited to explore the delicate balance between myth and reality, the transmission of traditions across generations, and the transformative power of storytelling in preserving and shaping our collective memory.
Application Requirements
Submission Guidelines:
Eligibility: This call for entry is open to artists of all backgrounds, and nationalities. Emerging and established artists are welcome to apply. 18 years and older, please.
Artwork: Submit up to six (6) high-resolution images of your original artworks.
Artist Statement: Include a brief artist statement (250 words maximum) that explains your artistic practice, your interpretation of the exhibition theme, and how your work relates to lore and family narratives.
Artist Biography: Provide a concise biography (150 words maximum) outlining your artistic background, exhibitions, and any relevant achievements or recognition.
Selection Process and Exhibition Details:
The selection committee will review all submissions and select artworks that best reflect the theme and demonstrate artistic excellence.
Selected artists will be notified via email by September 22, 2023.
The exhibition will be held at Artworks Center for Contemporary Art from October 13th through December 23rd. Please note that selected artists are responsible for shipping or delivering their artworks to the exhibition venue.
The exhibition will be accompanied by an opening reception, artist talk, and educational programs to engage the public and foster dialogue around the exhibition theme.
By participating in this exhibition, artists have the opportunity to contribute to a collective exploration of the human experience, cultural heritage, and the significance of family narratives. Through their artistic expressions, they can shed light on the profound connections we share as individuals and communities, and the ways in which our personal histories shape the tapestry of our lives.

Eligibility Criteria
Artworks Center for Contemporary Art (ACCA) in Loveland, Colorado invites artists working in a variety of media techniques to enter Lore, an international juried exhibition. All artists age 18+ are encouraged to apply. Only online entries will be accepted. Eligible media include painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, fibers, metals, woodworking, ceramics, glass, and sculpture. Decorated furniture, giclee prints of original work and not an edition, candles, pressed flowers, handmade reproductions, and objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are NOT ELIGIBLE.
