Lands & Lifestyles: ART OF THE WEST– Special Event

Life in the West Art Gallery invites artists to participate in a juried Exhibition and Sale showcasing images of the West. All styles of 2D and 3D artwork will be considered in the following categories:

Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Photography, Digital Art, Glassware, Ceramics, Wood Carving, Stoneware, and Metalwork. Please no jewelry because no jewelry cases are available.

The objective of this Exhibition and Sale is to showcase the Landscape and the Lifestyles of the people living in the West, today and in the past. From the mountains to the plains, there is a wide diversity of land and lifestyles to be shown and how they may interact with one another.

Life in the West Art Gallery is a Special Event gallery, hosting 3-day, themed Special Events each quarter of the year, located in Broomfield, Colorado, an equal distance between Denver and Boulder, Colorado. Broomfield has a population of 75,325 people of which has a median family income of $107,570 per year and 55.4% of the population has a yearly income over $100,000 with 18.9% of the population having a yearly income of over $200,000.

Commission on Sales:

70% of sales goes to the Artist

30% of sales is retained by the Gallery

Artists are to submit entries through www.Callforentry.org. Upon acceptance for the show, artist agrees that an image of the accepted artwork may be used for advertising and promotional purposes for the show. Management will not produce any product for sale using an image of the artist’s work.

Additional Artworks

Each invited artist, selected by the jury, may submit two additional “miniature artworks” up to 12”x 12” (including frame) at no additional cost. These artworks are of the artist’s choice, but should reflect the Lands and Lifestyle of the West theme. If these artworks are wall hanging artworks, a wire for hanging must be included on the back.

Sales of Artworks

All artworks must be for sale and may not be removed by the Artist until the close of the show. Art purchased during the show may be removed by the Buyer. All Sales and Taxes are handled by the gallery and artists will receive a check within 15 days of the closing of the show.

Insurance

All artworks in the Exhibition and Sale are insured by the gallery while on the premises for 70% of the sales price. The gallery will Not Be Responsible for insuring the Artwork in Transit.

Artist Reception

There will be no artist reception, but all artists are invited to attend and participate in the show, for as much or as little time as you would like.

Invited Artworks

All invited artworks must include the following on the back of the artwork:

·         Title of Artwork

·         Artist Name

·         Sales Price (show full retail price…the price submitted to Café will be the final sales price!)

Receiving Artwork

Artworks are to be received during the week of October 9-13, 2023 from 9am-5pm. Local artists may deliver their artworks to the gallery and shipped artworks are to be shipped to the following address:

No Packing Peanuts Allowed. If artwork is received with Packing Peanuts, the package will be closed back up and the artwork will not be allowed in the show. The gallery will ship artwork back with the same packing materials provided by the artist. The gallery is not responsible for any damage that may occur during shipping.

Prepaid Return Shipping Label Required

All shipped artwork must include a Prepaid Return Shipping Label. If your artwork is sold, the Prepaid Return Shipping Label will be destroyed and the shipper will not charge you for the return shipping. Fedex is the preferred shipper although UPS will be accepted. The gallery will NOT return ship any artwork via USPS.

Art Pick Up and Return

For Local artists, unsold artworks may be picked up at the closing of the show or on Monday, October 24, or Tuesday October 25, 2023 from 9am-5pm. All other artworks will be shipped by Friday, October 27, 2023.

 

Application Requirements

Submissions: Original works of 2D and 3D art are preferred, but high-quality prints are acceptable and wall hanging artwork may not exceed 48” in width (including frame), must be gallery ready and include a wire for hanging. Sculptures must not exceed 60 lbs. No ceiling suspended sculptures are accepted. Acrylic, Plexiglas, or Museum Glass coverings are recommended instead of regular glass. The gallery will take no responsibility for artworks that should be damaged by broken regular glass coverings.
