The Locust Grove Estate in Poughkeepsie, NY is announcing four (4) Solo Show opportunities.

Each 10-12 week show presents artists with the opportunity to exhibit 20-30 artworks in the Transverse Gallery at Locust Grove, a National Historic Landmark Museum, education center, and nature preserve which attracts over 90,000 visitors annually.

Locust Grove was founded in 1975 by philanthropist Annette Young who created a not-for-profit museum to preserve her inherited family homes and art collections for the benefit of the public. Through exhibits of contemporary art, we seek to continue the Young family’s support of the arts into a new century.

Exhibition Information:

Solo shows are available for 2-D artwork. Please note the galleries are frequented by visitors of all ages, including school groups. Artists’ discretion is requested for works that are appropriate for a wide range of age groups.

We encourage artists to develop new works of art for this exhibition opportunity. 

If selected for a solo show, the images submitted for review do not necessarily have to be among the works exhibited.

Accepted artwork must be properly mounted, and ready to hang from a track-type hanging system with two d-rings mounted on each side, about 1/3 down from top of piece.  No wire on the back is necessary, we will attach our own line to hang from rail near ceiling. Materials that are fastened to the front of your pieces as part of your artwork may not protrude more than 3 inches from the piece.  Artwork must not weigh more than 10 pounds.  although a wide range of widths can be accommodated, pieces may not exceed 7 feet in height.  

Artwork may be either for sale or for exhibition only.  Terms for sale of artwork: artist receives 75% of sale, Locust Grove receives 25%. 

Recommended number of works for display is 20-30 pieces, depending on size. 

Locust Grove reserves the right to not exhibit any artwork that does not meet our display criteria. 

Locust Grove will oversee the marketing of the exhibition through press releases sent to our extensive media lists and announcements to our 4,400 + mailing lists, Facebook with 6,000 followers and Instagram with 3,100.  

Locust Grove will assist the artist with on-site signage. The artist is responsible for any additional promotion.

The artist is responsible for transporting and picking up artwork.

Please upload/submit no more or no less than 10 images with dimensions and an "Artist Statement," one-page long maximum.
