Foothills Art Center Member Show - CALL FOR ENTRIES

Exhibition Dates: February 2nd - April 21st, 2024

Submission Open through November 19th, 2023

Foothills Art Center (FAC) is pleased to announce the call for our annual exhibition featuring our artist members' diverse artistic talents and techniques. The FAC exhibition staff will jury artwork to select an exhibition with engaging and creative content and the highest level of craftsmanship. The show will be in the Large Gallery upstairs of the new Astor House location. This show is a fantastic opportunity to show your work of yours if you never have before.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to current members of FAC. If you are not a current member of FAC you may become one through the www.foothillsartcenter.org website PRIOR TO ENTRY. Lapsed members and non- members are not eligible. Become a member at:

• $15 entry fee. Up to 3 works may be entered, with a maximum of 1 selected.
• All media are eligible, including alternative media.
• Artwork must be:
  • For sale - FAC retains a 40% commission on art sales
  • Original (no reproductions, exceptions made for digital works )
  • Not previously shown at FAC
• Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed and have all hardware ready for hanging - all other work must be installation ready with instructions if necessary.  
• There is no size restriction but larger works will be accessed for effective use of scale.

Criteria for Acceptance into FAC Members Show

•           Exceptional use of media 15%

•           Rendering of subject matter 15%

•           Effective use of color and contrast 15%

•           Originality of content 20%

•           Overall concept 15%

•           Strong use of composition 15%

•           Craftsmanship and presentation 5% (more heavily weighted for 3D works)

DEADLINES

Entry will be closed at midnight on the 19th of November, 2023.  Notifications will be sent via email by 5:00 pm November 24th. No phone inquiries, please.

EXHIBITION TIMELINE

• Entry Deadline: November 19th
• Notifications: November 24th
• Delivery of artwork: January 18th and 19th 10am – 1pm
• Exhibition Dates: February 2 – April 21, 2024
• Artwork Pick Up: Monday, April 22, 2024. Pick up unsold artwork (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) All mailed work will be shipped out no later than the April 26th
