The Albuquerque Fiber Council will host a biennial fiber art event held on April 12-13, 2024 and the exhibition is open to all artists working in a fiber based medium. The exhibition is divided into fiber related divisions of knitting, mixed media, beads, crochet, embroidery, knitting by machine, lacemaking, quilting, sewing and weaving/spinning. Cash prizes will be awarded.
The Call for Entry is open from October 1 thru January 7, 2024.
The Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta is an in-person live exhibit where all the entries will be displayed for public viewing.
The Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta has ten separate divisions. Each division had categories for specific entries. The divisional descriptions and categories can be found at https://abqfiberartscouncil.org/fiber-arts-fiesta-2024/afaf-2024-call-for-entries/ The general instructions are located with the divisional requirements and there is a separate challenge that is open to all artists working in the fiber medium.
All entries will be juried from February 5-9, 2024. Acceptance letters will be sent out no later than February 19, 2024. The acceptance letters for selected entries will contain all the information and details for the entry's delivery to the exhibition.
Application Requirements
Entrants may enter not more than three (3) entries per division
Entrants may enter multiple divisions, complying with each Division's Rules for Submission
All entries will be juried for content. Divisions that are judged will have the judging requirements listed in the Divisions Rules for Submission.
Entry fees for members of a participating guild - $10.
Entry fees for nonmembers of a participating guild - $15.
Entrants, both members and non-members may enter electronically, in which case photos must be electronically submitted and payments must be through PayPal. The entrant is allowed to upload two photos. One photo must show all completed edges of entry in a straight on shot and one photo must show a close up of the entry.
Mailed entries will not be accepted.
How to enter electronically: Use the CaFE application process to complete your entry. Follow the instructions for multiple entries. Review and Save your information before proceeding to the payment section. Save your information often throughout the process (there are time limits on the website).
Entries must be completed after March 1, 2022
