Sage Memorial Hospital is excited to announce our new "Canvas of Care" art initiative. We invite artists from all 2D disciplines to submit their original artwork for a chance to be featured in our new hospital facilities. As we prepare to open our doors, we aim to incorporate local art that reflects our diverse Navajo community and celebrates themes of health and wellness. We recognize the significant role that art plays in establishing a calming and peaceful atmosphere, particularly in healthcare settings we are committed to creating an environment that promotes healing, comfort, and wellness.

We extend this invitation to artists, like you, to join us in this exciting opportunity to showcase your work while contributing to our mission of providing quality healthcare. Submissions must be 2D in any medium, such as paintings, photographs, mixed media, or digital art. We encourage you to explore themes of health, wellness, community, and compassion in your submissions. Our goal is to curate a distinct collection that reflects the diversity of our Navajo community.

Project Overview

The Canvas of Care art initiative is an initiative by Sage Memorial Hospital to incorporate local art into our new hospital facilities. Our goal is to create a visually appealing and healing environment for our patients, visitors, and staff and to represent the community and culture of the Navajo people. The project will be juried, and selected artworks will be displayed throughout the hospital.

Project Budget

As a non-profit organization, the Navajo Health Foundation Sage Memorial Hospital relies on community support to fund projects such as Canvas of Care. For this project, we have allocated a budget of $50,000 to cover the costs associated with creating and installing the selected artworks. This includes artwork purchases, materials, framing, and installation fees.

Project Background

Sage Memorial Hospital has been serving the Navajo community for over generations, and we are constantly striving to improve our services and facilities. The idea for Canvas of Care came from our desire to create a unique and welcoming environment that promotes healing and wellness. We believe that incorporating local art into our hospital will not only enhance the space but also provide opportunities for artists in our community to showcase their talent.

Project Site

The selected artworks will be displayed in various areas throughout our new hospital facilities, including waiting rooms, patient rooms, and common areas. We want to create a seamless integration of art within the space to provide a cohesive and impactful experience for all who visit.

Project Description
