Rocky Mountain Regional Juried Exhibition (RMRJE) is organized by the Carbon County Arts Guild & Depot Gallery, in Red Lodge, Montana. The exhibition will be on view in the gallery March 1-30, 2024. An opening reception with the announcement of awards will be held 3-5 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024.
MONETARY AWARDS are given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and People’s Choice. Ribbons will be given for Honorable Mentions.
JUROR for the 2024 Rocky Mountain Regional Juried Exhibition is Bonnie Zahn Griffith. Painting the western landscape in oils and pastels, Bonnie Zahn Griffith brings her world to life on paper and canvas. A painter and educator, Griffith paints on location throughout the US and teaches workshops on plein air techniques and the art of pastel painting. The daughter of Montana ranchers, Griffith learned at an early age about the vast and rugged landscape of the Missouri Breaks of Montana from the back of a horse.
Although interested in art at an early age, Griffith pursued a career in Interventional Radiology that bridged a 30-year span. Her art endeavors during this time were a source of supplemental income during college years and subsequent gallery representation. In 2009, Griffith opted to make art her primary business. Focusing on landscape painting in an impressionistic yet representational fashion, she has gained skills that have opened doors for her in the art world. Griffith has studied with renowned instructors over her career such as Robert Moore, Lorenzo Chavez, Ned Mueller, Scott Christensen, and Elizabeth Mowry. Griffith’s approach to her art includes study of color, shapes and values along with experimentation in the techniques of the application of oils and pastels. Griffith has work in corporate and private collections throughout the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe.

No sawtooth hooks!
SALES: All pieces must be for sale. The Carbon County Arts Guild & Depot Gallery manages all sales and receives a 40% commission on the retail price.
