This is a request for qualifications. Once invited to develop a proposal, artists are always compensated for concept development and presentation.

Group Creative Services is looking for artists to engage with a variety of communities around the midwest through the proposal and development of public art. Projects range in scope and scale. Budgets range from $10,000 - 250,000+. We are specifically looking for artists and collectives with diverse, interdisciplinary practices that engage communities and take public art in new directions. 

We're looking for artists who can propose and also execute public artwork based on unique criteria from a given community. Meaning, we are not interested in simply repeating past successes from elsewhere. We are interested in public art that goes beyond the mural and engages with communities and ideas if place-making.

Two immediate opportunities include:

"Art Alley"
Design and install public artworks in Art Alley, a corridor connecting a regional trail to the hospitality of a suburban Des Moines community.

"Downtown Entryway"
Design and install a site-specific public artwork engaging residents and visitors at an entrance to a suburban Des Moines community.
