It's that time of year! The theme for "Winter Gardens" is simple. Find something new and something close by – from your very own winter garden.

We're all wrapping up, anticipating the cold weather sneaking up on us again. So it's also time to check out those amazing seasonal scenes – an elegant winter bird sat on your mail box, an exquisite reddening tree in your yard, a frozen lake at the end of the street. We often don't have to go far for a beautiful view and this is the thinking behind "Winter Gardens" – finding that amazing scenery, that moment caught in time, that unexpected collision of light and color as the leaves turn and drop – close by, in your local winter garden.

It's a time of renewal, of new beginnings, and this time of year gives us some very exciting weather – those extreme elements that we love, despite the dropping temperature! So for "Winter Gardens" brave the weather and find that unexpected local discovery, stay in and remember that scene last year, or take your imagination on a trip and create something completely unexpected.

Photography, oils, sketching, sculpture, ceramics, watercolor, and any other media are all welcome. So please dig deep and explore your own interpretation of what "Winter Gardens" means to you. Surprise us; surprise yourself!

We are excited to see your submissions – let's make this a new exhibition to remember.

CALENDAR
Entry deadline Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Notification of winners and online gallery opening on the Cultural Center website by January 20, 2024.

AWARDS
First place - $300.00, second place - $200.00, and third place - $100.00.

ENTRY FEE
$20 for first entry, and $5 for each additional entry up to maximum of 20 images. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to ALL fine art mediums (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, digital art) except video.

RULES
Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. 

NOTIFICATION
Notification will be done by email. If for any reason you do not receive your notification by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account.

FORMATTING
All images must be in JPEG or JPG format using Café guidelines. The image size must be 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. Maximum file size is 5 mb.
