Call Description

The objective of this project is to commission a life-size bronze statue of Fred Gray, capturing his likeness and character in a manner that is both realistic and artistically impressive.  The statue will be placed in our organization's courtyard, which is a focal point for our members, visitors, and the public.  Fred Gray served as President of the Alabama State Bar from 2002-2003.

Fred Gray was a 2022 recipient of the Medal of Freedom. the nation's highest civilian honor, representing his unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and social progress.  He was also awarded the ABA Medal, the highest award given to a lawyer.  Fred Gray has made a profound impact on the legal community for his unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of justice, equality, and civil rights.  He has used his lifelong dedication to the law as a powerful instrument for positive change and the advancement of civil liberties.  Gray's work not only broke down legal barriers but also inspired countless individuals to pursue a career in the law with a deep sense of purpose and social responsibility.   

Application Requirements

Create a life-size statue of Fred Gray, measuring approximately six feet. Ensure that the statue captures the likeness, posture, and expression of Fred Gray accurately.  Craft the statue with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring it is a work of art that will stand the test of time. Coordinate with our organization's representatives throughout the design and creation process to ensure alignment with our vision.  Deliver and install the statue securely in our courtyard, including any necessary foundations or pedestals.
