His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally at museums, universities, art centers, and galleries; and he is the recipient of numerous awards, grants, and artist residencies.

His imagery explores the personal, societal, and aesthetic struggles of belonging to both “white” and “black” racial and cultural identities, yet simultaneously belonging fully to neither. A selection of his artwork may be viewed at michaeldixonart.com
