Photo Artfolio invites photographers worldwide to apply for our Photo Artfolio Photo Story Grant. Applications accepted through Friday, April 12th, 2024.

Description: 

Photo Artfolio will award one photographer a $1,000 grant for an in-depth photo story that moves and inspires us. There are no restrictions on subject matter. We’re looking for strong story-telling images, emotional resonance and a deep understanding of the subject, person or issue you’re photographing. We want to see photos one can’t turn away from. The winning photographer and photo story will be featured on our Photo Artfolio site as well as in our social media feeds. Photographers must submit a minimum of 6 images with a maximum of 12 along with an artist’s statement (no more than 2000 characters). Photographers are encouraged to include captions with their images. This grant is open to all forms and categories of photography with the exception of AI-generated work. CALENDAR: Applications open January 23rd, 2024 and close Friday, April 12th, 2024 at 11:59pm MST. Photographers will receive notification of acceptance by Tuesday, May 7th 2024 when our winning photographer’s work will be featured in our online gallery and in our social media feeds.

AWARD: Winning photographer will receive $1,000 to be used however the photographer deems appropriate.

ENTRY FEE: Application fee is $35 and includes between 6 and 12 images in total. This nominal fee helps offset the costs of administering this grant so we can continue to support and fund photographers and their projects. Photographers may submit more than one application/project (up to 5/photographer).

ELIGIBILITY: This call is open to photographers worldwide, both amateur and professional.

All work submitted must be original work created and owned by the submitting photographer. This call is open to all forms and categories of photography with the exception of AI-generated work.

ENTRY PROCEDURE: Application is done through CaFÉ,. To apply for the grant, go to the CaFÉ website at www.callforentry.org where you can create a FREE artist account. You will add your details and upload your images to CaFÉ and then you can submit work to “Photo Artfolio Photo Story Grant”. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@photo-artfolio.com.

IMAGE PREPARATION: All images must be in JPEG format using CaFÉ guidelines. The image size must be 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. Maximum file size is 5 mb.

NOTIFICATION: Notification will be done by email and everyone who applies will be notified of the final selections. If for any reason you do not hear from us by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account or check your spam box. Notification emails are sent to the email on file with CaFÉ. Grant winner is final and our grant committee does not offer personal feedback to applicants.

SALES: All sales inquiries will be directed to the photographer’s website and photographers receive 100% of the sale of their work. Cash awards over $600 are subject to federal income tax withholding within the United States. A W-9 form must be filled out by the winner and submitted to Photo Artfolio.

REGULATIONS: By applying for our grants through CaFÉ you agree to be added to Photo Artfolio’s email list for forthcoming updates and artist opportunities. By submitting images, you agree that the images are your own work, that you own all rights to the images and that you take full responsibility for the content of all images, including the likeness of recognizable individuals. You will retain all rights to your work. Should you receive our grant, you give Photo Artfolio the right to display your image/s on our website, on social media, and wherever else we deem appropriate to help promote our online exhibitions. Photo Artfolio will always credit you wherever feasible. We will not use your image/s for any other purpose without your permission.
