By popular request Blue Line Arts is excited to announce our new exhibit On the Rise! This regional emerging artist exhibit intends on featuring high quality artwork by talented youth in our area.  To qualify artists must be between the ages of 14 and 24 when submitting their application. This call is a revival of an art show that we held annually for a number of years. Part of our mission as a Roseville not-for-profit is to offer enrichment to our local creatives and, by bringing back this feature on local emerging artists, we hope to do just that!

Do you have a passion for creating and want to take the first steps in making a career out of art? Are you a teacher who has exceptional students you want to share with the commnunity? This is the art show for you!

This exhibition will feature approximately 100 artworks that capture the essence of creativity and the diverse perspectives of the next generation of artists. We invite artists to submit artworks of any medium, including painting, sculpture, digital art, whatever it is that best represents your artisic voice.

Varying levels of scholarships are avaliable to cover the application fee for artists attending High School, Community College, or a 4 year University who reside in one of the qualified regions. 

Entries to this call will be free to high school students located in Placer county and the connecting  Sacramento, El Dorado, Yolo, Yuba, Sutter, and Nevada Counties. We have scholarships avaliable for high school students outide those counties as well. Inquire with gallery@bluelinearts.org to receive a coupon code to cover the application fee at checkout. Do not wait until the last second to request this coupon code as these requests are sent out by a staff member and take time to process during our normal operating hours. 

Important Dates 

Application deadline:

Online applications must be submitted by 5:00pm PST on September 20th, 2024

Show dates: November 23rd to December 28th, 2024

Notifications: Results will be sent by 5pm PST on October 4th, 2024

Shipping deadline of work to Blue Line Arts: October 25th, 2024 (This is the date you should deliver your packaged artwork to your chosen shipping carrier)

Hand deliver work to Blue Line Arts: November 18th and 19th, 2024 from 10am to 3pm

Opening Reception: Saturday December 21st from 5 to 8pm.

Pick up any unsold work from Blue Line Arts: December 29th and 30th, 2024 from 10am to 3pm

Application Requirements

This call to artists is exclusively open to artists who are between 14 and 24 years old at the time of applying. 

There is a non-refundable entry fee of $25 to apply to this call. This fee allows applicants to upload between 1 and 5 photos of artworks for possible inclusion in the exhibition. Scholarships are avaliable to help with this fee. 

Artists who are under 18 years old must have their parent or legal guardian apply through CAFE on their behalf. 

If you are an adult applying on behalf of an Artist who is under 18 years old you will need to upload artworks to your CAFE Portfolio with all relevant details. You will need to submit the name of the artist who is under 18 years old and define your relationship to them in a question later in the application. 


All artists or parents/ legal guardians must apply through this Call for Entry submission form before the deadline on September 20th, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

● Open to artists everywhere!
● All artwork must be original and completed within the last two years
● Artwork cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts
● All wall pieces must be ready to hang
● All artwork must be for sale
● Accepted artwork that differs significantly from the image in online submission will be disqualified
 No accepted entry may be withdrawn or sold outside of the exhibition prior to the closing date
● Blue Line Arts handles all sales transactions. The artist agrees that the price submitted in this application will be the price that the work will be sold for and may not change hereafter.  Please note, the gallery sales commission is 50/50 for Non-members or 60% commission for current Artist Members.  

Size limitations

o Art must be able to enter through the doors with a clearance of 94”h x 91”w
o Ceilings in the gallery are 10 feet high
o Nothing over 80 lbs will be accepted

Shipping
With this local art show we hope that most artists will be dropping off and picking up their artwork.

If you are in a position where you must ship your artwork, the artist is responsible to pay for all shipping and should have a prepaid label from FedEx or UPS (No US Mail) for the return of artwork. Please mark the outside of your box with your last name in bold letters also please use blue painters tape to wrap your artwork if you use bubble wrap.
