A LAUNCH OPEN CALL GROUP EXHIBITION

In Partnership with The Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles

May 2 to May 31, 2024

Deadline Extended: April 7, 2024 at 10:59 pm PST

There is a scientific definition for the complex molecular process of divergent synthesis combining differing components to create a new generation of compounds; but LAUNCH is approaching it on a conceptual level-- more reflective of contemporary art and inspired by our culture. “Divergent Synthesis” brings together artists from across Southern California whose practices meld an array of experiences, backgrounds, influences, media, materials and/or methods to create a new and cohesive piece of art. These artists and their works reflect our times and provide an authentic lens to view, interpret, and document contemporary culture.

LAUNCH, in partnership with The Korean Cultural Center, invites all Southern California visual artists to submit work for a juried exhibition and competition at The Korean Cultural Center, 5505 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, May 2 through May 31, 2024.

At least 2 artists will be selected for a 2 person exhibition at LAUNCH Gallery in Los Angeles. Historically, multiple artists from this 'Open Call' have been selected to exhibit at our gallery.

Please take the time to read through all of the submission and exhibition details before starting your application. All submissions are final.

Application Requirements

Note: The system requires a minimum of 3 work- sample files to complete the application.

If you wish to submit only 1 or 2 images:

  • Fill in with detail shot(s)
  • Or add blank placeholder(s) to your portfolio prior to starting the application
  • It’s helpful if you name them “blank”, “placeholder” or whatever your sense of humor dictates- as long as we will recognize it as filler.
  • And we thank you for your patience with this…

Please double check your submission for accuracy- all submissions are final.
