Pages to Piments will explore the powerful intersection between literature and art, demonstrating how words can inspire a spectrum of emotions and images on canvas. We are seeking a diverse range of artists residing within a 250 mile radius of Dubuque, IA. 

This curated exhibition is pleased to offer monetary prizes for People's Choice--1st $500 and 2nd $250 along with the prestigious Curator's Prize of $750. The jury panel will select artworks that demonstrate a wide array of styles, techniques, and genres, showcasing the richness of the creative dialogue between literature and painting.

Attendees can expect to embark on a visual journey through the pages of literature. Each artist will be asked to provide a short overview of the inspiration and connection to the written word. Inspiration can be drawn from novels, poetry, or other  literary venues. 

The exhibition aims to spark conversations about the symbiotic relationship between words and colors, encouraging viewers to delve into the deeper meanings embedded within each brushstroke.

Application Requirements

All 2 dimensional works will be considered, including digital media.

Good quality images must be provided with applications.

Up to 5 works may be submitted within a single application. All works will be juried as individual pieces. 

Submissions must include 1-2 paragraphs explaining the literary inspiration and connection to the submitted artwork.

Artists must reside within a 250 mile radius of Dubuque, IA.

Artwork delivery to and from the gallery are the responsibility of the artist.
