The Morgan Community College Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) oversees the Gallery of Fine Art located in a historic building in downtown Fort Morgan, Colorado.  The Gallery opened in 2012, and since then has hosted juried art exhibits from local, regional and national artists.  Most exhibits stay on display for five to six weeks.  Local residents and art enthusiasts throughout the region visit the Gallery.  It is free and open to the public Monday through Friday during regular business hours.  In addition to its regular business hours, the Gallery has extended hours on scheduled Third Thursday evening Art Walks, artist receptions, and other special occasions and community events throughout the year The artist receives 90% of artwork sales; the Gallery retains10% to help with gallery maintenance and exhibit promotions.

Call details for applications to exhibit in the CACE Gallery of Fine Art are as follow:

  • Art pieces are to be of original concept and design.
  • Art objects are to have been created in the last five (5) years.
  • Art objects created in instructional settings (i.e. workshops, classes) are not considered original artwork.
  • For items on canvas, maximum size is not to exceed 2000 square inches (unframed).
  • Two-dimensional pieces must be framed and wired, ready for hanging (saw tooth hangers are not compatible with the Gallery hanging system).
  • Images of exhibited items may be photographed for promotional purposes.
  • Artists must currently be living in the United States.
  • Electronic applications will be accepted through April 1, 2024. Application images should be a minimum of 1200 pixels on longest side. File size should not exceed 5 megabytes.
  • Artists selected for exhibits will be notified before the end of April, 2024. Upon invitation to exhibit, and acceptance by the artist to exhibit, dates for the exhibit will be agreed upon.
  • Once Gallery representatives and selected artists agree to dates for their exhibition, both parties will enter into a formal contract. Upon exhibit agreement, the Gallery will request a 300 dpi headshot of the artist for use in marketing the exhibit.
  • Artists are required to make arrangements for delivery and pick up all items exhibited at the CACE Gallery of Fine Art. If shipping is required, the artist will be responsible for that expense.
  • Exhibits normally open on a Thursday evening. The artist is expected to attend the opening reception, and make a brief presentation about their work and artistic process and/or avail themselves to conversation with Gallery visitors at the reception.
  • Artists may identify items that are either for sale (with price) or designated as NFS.
  • A CACE Gallery support fee of 10% will be deducted from the sale price of any item. Artists will be paid 90% of the sale price of their artwork. Payment will be by check to the artist from the MCC Foundation after the show closes.
  • Artists who wish may also present a workshop and hands-on experience for participants. Arrangements and details of that option will be discussed with each artist.

Electronic applications will be accepted through April 1, 2024. 

Upon acceptance of invitation to exhibit, the artist and the Gallery will enter into a contract agreement.

Artworks entered on this application are required to be part of the exhibit.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Artists must currently be living in the United States.

Artists are required to make arrangements for delivery and pick up all items exhibited at the CACE Gallery of Fine Art. Upon invitation to exhibit, and acceptance by the artist to exhibit, dates for the exhibit will be agreed upon.

Artists who wish may also present a workshop and hands-on experience for participants. Arrangements and details of that option will be discussed with each artist.
