Call Details:

The City of Lone Tree Arts Commission is seeking proposals from Colorado artists for an outdoor, temporary, three-dimensional art installation to be displayed for no less than 60 days at a pre-selected site near the Lone Tree Arts Center.

Artwork should be suitable for outdoor public display, weather resistant, pedestrian safe and appropriate for all ages. There should be an interactive component that engages and unites people across all ages, genders, and cultures through a shared experience.  Daytime presence/activation is required, nighttime is encouraged.

Artists are encouraged to stretch the boundaries of what art means by engaging multiple senses, utilizing kinetic motion, and the use of sustainable materials.  This installation should be eye catching and be able to withstand the roughest engagement by children and the weather.

Review and Selection Process:

First Round

All submissions will be reviewed by the Lone Tree Arts Commission; assessing the creativity and overall quality of the previous work being submitted. The Arts Commission will consider each statement submission for its ability to convey how the piece will enliven the public area and grounds surrounding the Lone Tree Arts Center and its ability to draw people in and provide a welcoming presence.

Second Round

The Arts Commission will narrow the field down to a group of finalists who will be invited to pitch their concept design in person or virtually. Proposals will be reviewed and scored based on the technical feasibility of the project, its ability to meet the guidelines laid out in the call details, and whether it furthers the mission and goals of the City of Lone Tree.  Each finalist will receive a $100 honorarium for pitching their proposal.
