The Gallery at FDC invites you to apply for "Abstracted Realms: A Modern Interpretation of Landscapes". This show is an invitation for artists to share new interpretations of one of the oldest expressions of fine art. Landscape art has historically been an expression of a "wide view" depiction of natural scenery where weather, topography and other natural elements adorn the artwork. We're looking for artists whose work plays on these themes and stretches conventional norms for the Landscape genre. 

Artists need to be regional to Denver, CO to apply. All 2-d work is welcome. All artwork must be original. No prints, sculpture, or AI work will be considered. All work must be for sale.

CASH PRIZES

Three prizes will be presented to artists and announced at the Opening Reception (Aug 9) of the show, as selected by the Jurors. Best of Show ($500), People's Choice (as chosen by those in attendance at the opening reception, $250) and 2 Honorable Mentions ($100 each). 

SHOWING VENUE:

The show is being held in the Gallery at FDC (Fellowship Denver Church), 1990 S. Broadway Denver, CO.

DEADLINE

The deadline to enter for consideration in this show is midnight (MST) on July 3, 2024.

NOTIFICATION

Results of the judging will be emailed the week of July 15.

EXHIBITION DATES

Accepted work will be exhibited from August 9 - September 27.

OPENING NIGHT - Friday, August 9 from 5-9pm. 

FEES

$25 flat fee for up to three art pieces/images

ACCEPTED WORK

  • All work must be original and for sale. All 2-d mediums are welcome to apply.
  • No Prints will be accepted
  • No audio/video work or sculptures accepted

Accepted artists will receive instructions for shipping and hand delivery. Shipping and return shipping costs and insurance are the responsibility of the artist. For shipped work, reusable shipping containers only. Gallery At FDC encourages artists to insure their artwork when shipping. Shipped work accepted up until August 1, 4 pm

All shipped artwork must include a pre-paid return-shipping label.

Artists may hand-deliver accepted artwork to the Gallery at FDC (Fellowship Denver Church) 1990 S. Broadway, Denver, CO, from July 22 - Aug 1 by appointment only. Instructions will be sent to accepted artists. 

All accepted artwork is due by Thursday, August 1, at 4:00 p.m, and will not be included in the exhibition if late.

SPECIFICATIONS

All works accepted for the exhibition must be ready to hang. All delivered work must match the image juried. Frames, mats, and wiring must be professional quality and in good condition. No sawtooth hangers. All paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped with fully painted edges. Two-dimensional works on paper must be framed.  

Complex artwork installations or fragile work must be installed by creating artist or artist's representative, otherwise will not be included in the exhibition.

Accepted artwork may not be removed from Gallery at FDC prior to the close of the exhibition.

SALES

Any artwork sold to the public will not incur a fee. Artists keep 100% of sales

No purchased work may be removed from Gallery At FDC before the close of the exhibition, unless arrangements are made in advance and permission granted by Gallery at FDC. 

Artists will facilitate all sales of their artwork.  

PICK UP

Pick-up is on September 30th and October 1st between 9am and 4pm, unless other arrangements are made with the gallery. Shipped work will be packaged and shipped to artists on Monday, September 30th, 2024. 

Eligibility Criteria

Must be regional to Denver, CO. Attending the Opening Night (aug 9) is not required but highly recommended and encouraged.
