Seeking applications from muralists to create original art for the City of Centennial's first public mural project. This process will consist of two (2) rounds. This call will offer the opportunity for artists to submit examples of past work. Artists will be selected for the 2nd round based on the examples presented and the information provided in their artist statement.
Artists invited to participate in the 2nd round will be notified by the week of May 20th. 2nd Round artists will receive a small stipend to provide a concept sketch which will be included with their prior work examples to be judged by Centennial citizens. Sketches should be completed by June 10th with judging to commence shortly thereafter.
If selected to participate in this project, finalists will be notified in mid-July with the expectation that they will work Centennial's staff to sign contracts and understand the procedures for completion of the murals.
The winning artist(s) will have their concepts, past work and names announced at Centennial Under the Stars on August 10th at Centennial Center Park.
Due to the water levels (along a creek) and platforms necessary to complete the mural installation, installation has been scheduled for sometime within the window of August 22nd - September 12th.
