Verum Ultimum Art Gallery invites artists to explore the theme, "Whisper!"

Verum has secured its' next gallery space and location!  And this inaugural theme comes with great anticipation, like the closed curtains & the dimming of lights in the theater, the collective whisper beckons...

WHISPER!: when the murmur from art echoes beyond the walls & settles somewhere secret.  And "Whisper" with an exclamation may signal contradictions or dualities.  The term carries symbolism pertinent to the momentous occasion, but it also carries mystery to be filled in by artists' interpretations.  Verum is open to all perceptions of this theme.  Delicate expressions are welcome, as are bold, and the term WHISPER may be framed in many ways, not necessarily meant to be a literal elucidation. All mediums and modes of expression are welcome.  Verum Ultimum Gallery tasks artists to define this inaugural exhibition to herald in Verum's new space in Southeast Portland this summer of 2024!

EXHIBITION DATES:
Opening Reception will be in late June (exhibition runs through the remainder of June and the entire month of July)

ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS:
The competition is open to all 2D and 3D artists, national and international, working in all forms of painting, drawing, photography, graphics, digital, and sculpture are eligible. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. For this show wall mounted works must not be taller than 55" no wider than 48" (unless approved by gallery owner). 

EXHIBITION: 
Selected artists will be featured in a group exhibition at the Verum ltimum Art Gallery in Portland, Oregon. There will be an opening reception. The exhibition will also be posted on the Verum Ultimum Gallery web site. Artists will also be featured in social media posts and an online blogpost interview

EXHIBITION TERMS:
All works in the show must be for sale. The gallery will take a 40 percent commission on all sales. Sale price is determined by the artist.

ENTRY FEES: 
There is a $25.00 entry fee for one artwork entered (additional images are optional); presentation is by digital JPG image files. 
Details of artwork count as an additional artwork. Artists accepted to exhibit will not be charged additional fees of any kind. 
Payments by credit card at time of entry through Cafe (https://www.callforentry.org/) or check or money order payable to Verum Ultimum.

IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS: 
Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process. By entering the competition, artists selected to exhibit grant Verum Ultimum Gallery rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery web site for promotional purposes only. Verum Ultimum retain no copyrights to artists work. 

NOTIFICATION: 
Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance by May 30, 2024. Notification will be made via email. All artists who provide a working email address will be notified via email, if no email is provided, artists will be notified via postal mail only if accepted to exhibit. Type your email address clearly, if a mistake is made you will not be notified. 

PRIVACY POLICY: 
Artist contact information (address, telephone, etc.) is only held for the purpose of contacting selected artists and is not preserved in any database. Entry data and image files are deleted on the completion of the jury process. 

DEADLINE: 
The entry deadline is May 16th, 2024. Entries must be submitted via Café (https://www.callforentry.org/) by this date.
